I’m never sure if what I say, even if constructive will get me banned. I think others feel that way too. It certainly doesn’t help participation when there’s heavy handed moderation.
Spamming the same exact argument even if it's not valid anymore is bad for the overall forum performance and should be dealt with. Stacking over time negativity should also be nerfed to the ground.
Perhaps more controversially, I would love to see a limit on the number of times a single poster can post to a single thread. Maybe twice, maybe five times, whatever. But some limit. This would help prevent posters from trying to just outshout each other. If you have something truly new to say you didn't say in your first posts on that thread, it should be new enough to start a new topic.
A post limit whether per thread or time gated would discourage quick PvP action...

I think a post limit per thread would make sense and it's not a bad idea, except for the Original Poster, since it seems fair that said person would want to be able to respond even to every commenter individually.
Happy to see the responses to this threadsome insightful infos...

I take the opposite view so far as original posters' multiple comments are concerned. They often open a thread with a deliberatively provocative argument and then respond to every post that takes a different view, sometimes reporting those posts on spurious grounds after baiting the poster they're reporting, before finally asking the Mods to close the thread which they always do because it's at the original poster's request. So if anyone is restricted to the number of posts they can contribute to a single thread it should be the original poster - although I'm actually against restricting anyone unless they break the forum rules in which case there are adequate rules in place to cover that.
I'd certainly favour the Mods being asked to be more cautious when considering requests from original posters to close their threads - there's no legitimate reason to do so where the only reason for the request is that the other posters disagree with the original poster. It's a discussion forum, exchanging different opinions is what it's all about.

One change I think would be beneficial is for every ESO account to automatically have forum access (unless specifically banned). The additional hoops to jump through reduce participation.
