✭Yes I would like to not have to win a match to gain Zerith Var's favour, just play 1 novice match but not have to win.Having to play an online card game to gain favour with our companion feel wrong to me.
Imagine wanting to win a baseball cap as a reward and having to win a basketball game. It does not make sense to me cos not all of us can play those online card games. My brain must be broken cos I can't cope with ToT and yes I tried, did the beginner quest on many alts.
I studied guides on how to play tot but I can't do it. I also dont want to spend time on something I dont enjoy ...tot takes time and I want to play eso NOT a card game.

✭✭✭✭✭No, I like it the way it is.Zerith likes Tales of Tribute, that is why we need to win one Tribute game for his Favour achievement.
it is a minigame inside Elder Scrolls Online, it is ESO. i really dislike PvP and am not very good at it, still part of the game anyways.
You did not specify the difficulties with Tribute so i will give some advice and link guides i like.
What helped for me was playing lots of novice games with NPCs. i did not and still do not always win, but win more now than i did at the start.
it can help to primarily get cards from 1 Patron deck so you can get combos which get extra Gold Coin, Power, and/or Prestige.
My favourite decks are Duke of Crows and Pelin as they both give good amounts of Power, Crow also Gold along with Power.
Always useful to spend 2 Gold on the Treasury so you can get the Writ of Coin cards, they each give 2 Gold so the more you get the more cards you can purchase during the game.

✭✭✭✭✭No, I like it the way it is.Tales of Tribute is a part of ESO in both lore and gameplay. All game modes should be connected to the lore and rewarding to do. There's not one right way to have fun and all players deserve to have a fun and rewarding experience with the activities they love. If you don't like a piece of content, just skip it. ✭✭Other suggestion on how tZerith's favour could be earned, different to how it works now.I have done all the current ones I think there should be multiple ways to earn companion keepsakes not a fixed list of requirements, something similar to the way golden pursuits work with multiple activities to choose from.
And preferably a way to toggle them on or off in collections, part of me regrets getting Zerith's one with all the glowing heavy sacks everywhere, especially the ones you can't get to that spawn inside terrain.5 -

It is possible. It is just way waaaaaaaaay slower because the daily bigger rapport chunk is behind ToT
It don’t mind though. I got pushed out of my comfort zones a few times in the past with gameplay systems and it made me play the game differently and do a lot more activities, which was probably the devs/desginers point.

✭I avoided ToT for a long time and only started it because of Zerith - I now enjoy it. "Working as intended" I would say.
But I am not an expert player at all, and I am not grinding for the whole quest line, so my disappointment is more about the other rewards locked behind it: the dog, the dye, etc... BUT obviously I get it, there needs to be rewards tied to ToT, so I'm not gonna complain.A: "We, as humans, should respect and take care of each other like in a Co-op, not a PvP 🌸"

You may have maxed out his Rapport. But you can't get the Zerith-Var's Favor Achievement without playing ToT. Which in turn is required for The Twilight Path achievement. Both of which are required to get Zerith-Var's companion trinket which grants you his perk.4 -

The only reason I got this unlocked is because a friend kindly told me what cards to play, both to unlock the dailies and to get the thing done.
From my point of view ToT fits in ESO as well as a 'EuroTamrieltruck Simulator' minigame would.
Except this I might actually play.

✭✭✭✭✭Other suggestion on how tZerith's favour could be earned, different to how it works now.Lorewise, the task fits, since Zerith seems to love that card game, and it makes sense that an achievement task about gaining a companion's favor is related to that companion's personal interests and likes.
If it's about a game activity one absolutely doesn't care for or even dislikes, that's unfortunate, of course. And I personally don't enjoy ToT at all. Nothing against people who like it, since I know they exist and that's valid, but I personally get bored very fast when playing it and would rather use my limited play time to do things in ESO that I actually enjoy.
As a solution they could just give us a wider variety of tasks, without the need to complete all of them. Make if 7 out of 10 or so, so if one dislikes one of them completely, one could just skip that one and it would still be fine.
I know that technically it must be possible. The achievement list for the upcoming Wall event is already in game, and it has an achievement tied to killing any 15 enemies from a very long list (didn't count it, but I think it's 25 to 30 enemy names in total, but we only need to defeat some of them, and the achievement will be unlocked).@Syldras | PC | EU

✭✭✭✭✭No, I like it the way it is.All you need to do is beat a novice npc once to complete a ToT daily. Novice NPC's bend over backwards to hand over the win. And despite the hype, the rules and mechanics aren't as complicated as some would make it out to be. The only reason they appear complicated at first is because they seem somewhat arbitrary.
Not that I'm trying to sell anybody on it. Just that it's really not as much of a hurdle to get the achievement as some would like to believe. Heck, the Beggar objective typically takes more time than the ToT objective.

I did the tutorial when it came out, learned how to play, played a dozen or so games and concluded I had no interest in it and did not enjoy it. So I don't play it anymore.
Not a big deal as heavy sacks normally only contain musty grain and spuds.

Didn't know that, thanks. But from that page it says "Complete any Tales of Tribute Daily Quest with Zerith", meaning you could just play a match vs an NPC, in which case I definitely think it's perfectly fine as is. If it was forced to be a PvP match, I'd have more of an issue with it.6 -

Trust me, I do not chase every reward in the game but imagine am working on having all companions to max level and max rep. I got zerith to level 20,so he feels incomplete without his favour. I like him a lot cos he is khajiit and a necromancer plus I love his personality lol.
I respect many players enjoy tot, why I made sure my poll reflects that. I made an option for those that enjoy it or are happy with it as is to vote that way.

Yes, thank you. I love zerith as a companion and I honestly have tried to play tot. I dont enjoy pvp much either but I can do quests and such on midyear mayhem, it's doable for me but tot is painful for me.
