Hi forum friends,
I am enjoying the vibes I must say. I started off a bit frustrated cos I couldn't even pick up a couple of dungeon quests on my alts cos I got a group that was in a rush BUT here is how I got around that. I looked up what area dungeon is at, travelled there myself , went in and picked up the quest and enjoyed the first bit of the quest dialogue which is usually the longest part.
Then when I went in with a group from group, finder I was able to share that quest. Im a lot happier now I know I can do this. After I did this I met lots of groups that were doing the quests, taking time looting containers and such lol.

I dont really like the opal items but I know many players do so no big deal, plenty of other goodies to enjoy.

Really liking this undaunted. I get to level up some subclass skills too.

That's how I did the DLC quests with pugs. I'd go to the dungeon myself, pick up the quest, and listen to all the dialogue from the quest giver. Then I'd queue for that dungeon.

For the DLC dungeons, you really only miss out on optional dialogue along the way. There's usually time at the end to listen to all the dialogue from the NPC that completes the quest, even if the rest of the group drops.

Unfortunately it doesn't work for the base game dungeons because you usually have to talk to NPCs along the way.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the event! :)

My elf normally does a solo normal non-DLC pledge a day. She's doing a couple extra during the event simply because she enjoys them. Her transmutes are also a bit low at around 650 so this is also a good time to speed that up.

As I said, she does them because she enjoys them and that is a good thing. I think the reason she enjoys them so much is that they are a solo instance where she goes at her own pace with no interference from other players or respawning mobs.

Though she spend tickets on group repair kits she already has tons of them. I do wish the Impresario had more selection since she has no interest in a dwarven spider mount. Some furnishings or costumes would be lovely.

I only can do 9 events because I don't do dungeons. I had fun killing Snake Mom with my friends for Public Dungeons and I got undaunted ranks.

I am not complaining in any way and enjoyed getting the 25k, but not even for 500 seals will I ever set foot in a dungeon again.

Hope everybody has fun and I will enjoy the next Golden if it's something I like doing.

I'm enjoying it so far. I've done quite a few normal PUG runs for missing gear from DLCs and they all went fine, the rush was real, but some people were chatty and some of us added each other and ran again, which is always nice when it happens. I've also run in some organized groups and we got a couple trifectas during our pledge runs, which is also nice when it happens :) In terms of rewards, I've gotten one of the new style pages, and some motifs, and the transmutes are always welcome, but I'm mostly happy for the extra curated gear loot in the coffer, so I can make some progress in my stickerbook.

On PCNA (where I mainly play) I only collect tickets since I do not need or want anything else from this event.

But on PCEU I've been doing a lot of PUGs on my 2-week old first toon there collecting skill points on the way. I made a startling discovery for myself in the Vaults of Madness. It turns out you do not need to wait and listen/talk to the second and third NPCs there. You can just "free" the second one by killing him and proceed further with the group ignoring the prompt to "talk to this guy". The quest will advance and complete splendidly.

I'm happy about the extra style page drops for generic dungeon motifs. Though, I already farmed the majority of those outside the event. They turn out to be a quick buck on the side but nothing that has me farm actively. Still, a positive attribute.

I couldn't care less for the opal style pages. I don't know why they persist as the key feature of this event or why zos can't let us farm the actual monster weapon style pages that rarely appear on the store.

Feels like being served the Temu-variant while the actually desirable reward is locked away for good.

The opal style pages don't look good. They look a cheap mod of the original.

I like this event. I've liked it since the first iteration. In fact, one of my mules is called Runs-Many-Dungeons exactly because, in order to actually get rewards back then, we'd have to use the group finder (which was broken 9 out of 10 times lol), and only then we'd get 1 reward per day per character, so having full slots was very much advantageous.

I like that we get those hard DLC dungeon motifs out of them. With no friends to farm them, it's pretty much impossible for me to get them outside of guild stores, and that's absolutely no fun. Buying your way into accomplishments.

    However.

I don't like getting into a dungeon with people who don't actually care for the dungeon, or playing the game, or being part of a group, and leave everyone in the dust, picking up single wandering mobs while they rush to the boss, denying the chance to grab a chest, or a Big Bag, or a lorebook. I don't like the idea of having to deal with these sort of horrible people in the longest of dungeons, only to get to the end and receive an ugly mug and an undaunted key.

Which is why in the last years I've resorted to soloing everything. Even DLC dungeons. A couple days ago Bal Sunar was pledge, I had not done it on the character I'm using to run the event. So I went in solo. Enough time to grab all books, check for chests and bags, and actually take time to speak to the quest NPC (shocking!!!). Got it done with zero hassle, even in a super outdated build from way before hybridisation was a thing. The event reward at the very keast helped fill the sticker book, and it felt good to actually run a dungeon instead of skipping everything like the current group mentality is.

When I want to farm the boxes, I go squash the Dreugh King once every 4 minutes or so. Bonus points for getting 2 boxes by bringing an alt account for the final boss. Imagine bringing 3 or even 4! The chances for good loot are poop, true. But they're poop everywhere. Especially because they expect players to do exactly what I'm doing, and squeeze as many boxes as quickly as possible. This creates a feedback loop. Event has crap chance at rewards. Players figure out the path of least resistance. They reduce the drop rate because people are getting too much stuff, or at least it feels that way. (Can you imagine if they added crown store collectibles to the pool of prizes again?) People farm it even harder through the path of least resistance. It goes on.

Is it boring? Yeah. Are the rewards enticing enough to keep me going? Also yeah.

If there's one thing I'd change, it would be increasing the chance of getting motifs pertaining to each dungeon from the boxes obtained in that dungeon. If I want to run nFG1 10 times and get 1 page from Mazzatun and one from Moongrave Fane, awesome. But if I run Maarselok 10 times I should have a higher chance of getting 2 Maarselok (Stags of Z'en) motifs instead of something from other dungeons. They might still drop, but it would be less likely.

This event has reminded me why I stopped doing RND's in anything but a full pre-made. I thought the PuG ettiquette had hit rock bottom this time last year. I was wrong. Which is a drag, because there was a time I enjoyed running dungeons with randos because I could meet all kinds of interesting people and have fun along the way.

Honestly, I love this event. Always do.

It's a great excuse to finish up some dungeons on alts, a wonderful way to flesh out dungeon sets that I haven't finished collecting yet, and a chance to mess around with characters that I don't normally play.

Also, this community is very kind. I hadn't completed Vaults of Madness on five of my seven characters, and that quest is ROUGH. It and Blackheart Haven have never been tweaked to accommodate "gotta go fast" dungeon groups, so you have to hope that people are merciful enough to wait for you to talk to npcs. Each time... you guys and gals waited for me, with nary a complaint or eye-roll. <3

Only goofy goober complaint I have is that instead of moving old opal styles into a catch-up sack, they're getting left in the standard loot tables for undaunted rewards. So each time this event is held, the statistical probability of getting one of the new opal style pages is worse and worse... which sucks. The event doesn't give enough tickets to buy them all, so you have to hope that the RNG gods favor you... and the odds just keep getting crueler as time goes on.

But otherwise, enjoying the heck out of it. Genuinely.

I love dungeons, but tbh I could take or leave the Undaunted event.

I'm allergic to PUGs and I'd much rather solo FGI than subject myself to the queue, so on days where I work late I don't get much farming done because my friends are already in bed. Which isn't the biggest thing, because the Opal styles are hideous and are the one thing that even I (who is a sucker for collecting fashions) will straight up avoid.

But seriously, why can't we get a lot of the real Arms packs to pop up in the store? Especially the ones we've never gotten?

Good luck doing HM for the following group dungeons in PUG. I gave up.

    Fungal Grotto II
    Crypt of Hearts II
    Banished Cells II
    Spindleclutch II (less issue)

I am tank on all of my 4 characters. I ask at start do others know mech for HM.
They type that they know, some even type what to do.
But at boss, there is always one grifter who breakes HM, so we type wipe.
I mean as a proper tank I can hold ghosts or Daedroths fine, but no, always one DD has to kill them all.
Then again the same story after wipe. I initiate vote to kick offender, but other 2 don't vote to kick so I leave.
And I'm mostly paired with 2000+ and 3000+ CP players, and I'm "lowly" 1470.
It blows my mind how so many high CP players are so bad, and can't do basic mech.
It's even worse that many of them have fancy vet trials' titles and skins which I will never as I don't play vet trials.
In FG II you type to not enter dome / bubble, you show bubble, and when the fight starts, there is always one player who goes inside. It's pretty obvious it's done on purpose, and yet, others refuse to kick repeating offender.

What is the point of running base game dungeon on veteran if you don't want to do HM?
You can get 1 key on normal version, anyway, and is way faster.

    P. S.
Incoming but play with guild mates.
I have a news for you - I have the bad experience with them, too, so I stopped.
Also, the game is clearly losing players for months after the fake subclassing update as right now in the prime time in my 3 top social / trading guilds with close to 500 members there are not even 80 members online!
On the working days is obviously worse.

Aldmeri Dominion (PC Europe via Steam)

The cowardly Wood Elves are best noted for their unwillingness to engage in a face-to-face attack; a Bosmer will strike at you from every side except the front. You won't cross swords with a Bosmer, but you might catch an arrow in the throat. Be wary in forests and jungles, and watch your back.

This year for some reason I mostly get speed runners in my dungeon finder groups, including fake healers who are very good dds. This isn't an issue for me, as I've already completed these dungeons many times, and I can keep myself alive most of the time. Previously during the Undaunted, I would rather be grouped with low level players who need their quest (and I usually wait for them), so this year completing pledges is remarkably fast.

It is definitely funny to see all of us speed runners being unable to resist these 'simple' treasure chests despite our high CPs. We see it shine blue and we race to it to be the first to force the lock (unless it is really somewhere far in the corner, we don't bother in such a case). Yesterday, one player sprinted ahead of us because they weren't interested in treasure chests, but when they saw us staying behind, they actually waited for us to loot it and catch up. I think that's cute.

I'm probably going to skip it, unless anyone from the Story Mode guild wants an extra person at a time when I'm available.

I don't want any of the rewards from the event or the golden pursuit, and dungeon events seem to make people even more impatient than usual, so it's rarely an enjoyable experience.

I PUGged into way too many groups with fake tanks.
I try to complete some set collections but it‘s almost impossible to find a group with real tanks. I could do the dungeons on Normal but I like them better on Veteran (chances for more set pieces, higher odds for motifs at the end,…) and I‘m struggling completing enough dungeons during the limited time I have per day.

It was a good incentive to get my baby templar started her training, as it meant she's been easily able to get into a dungeon with other noobs and a suitably chilled atmosphere. Being able to combine doing the pursuit things with the character training has made the training more rewarding than usual.

It is funny doing RNDs with experienced players on their new alts though. We know what to do, but we're trapped in the bodies of newbies and wearing mismatched gear. With training skill bars that are as effective as a chocolate teapot!

I would like it even more though if more people want to do actual runs instead of just spamming fg1. I had to quit a group as tank because it was taking so long to find a dps replacement. A dps!

Also have some prog spirit. Ragequitting after 1 wipe really?
