What happens after the Wormfather in Riften dies? *spoiler alert

So for weeks now I have regularly killed the Wormfather in the Rift, only to have him turn into a spirit who gives himself to Sinmur. The quest bugs from here and doesn't advance. Has anybody completed this quest? What is supposed to happen?

In spirit form he mentions how there is not only you who is strong in the force, but there is another.
Lots of people beat this quest, I did 2 days back at VR 10 level. Not sure why you are having problems, good luck though.0 -
