I used to have fun with this game. I could imagine my characters with different stories and do fashions and dungeons and trials and all of that.
Now, there's nothing. The balance is so cooked that having multiple characters doesn't even matter since there's literally one setup that's allowed. The stories have gotten more and more boring, and now we're even being rushed through them for the next FOMO thing. Most PvE content, despite the dungeons being great, is really not fun anymore since I have to build a specific way because if I don't then I'm letting my group down.
I want to level a new character, with all new skills and a new Class instead of just mishmashing existing lines together. I want to go back to enjoying this game and going for achievements on specific characters. I want to be able to explore their stories.
I want to go back to having fun. And this year has not been that.
collect the daily bonus, do whatever endeavors i can do in town or in under 5-10 mins, log out. reminisce about the good ol' days when stuff on the traders sold for absurd prices and i could use that gold to buy crowns from other players
I'm usually trying to get some achievements or cosmetics. Currently going for the last DLC dungeon trifecta's and stylepage's from BG leaderboard. And housing.
Honestly? Busywork. I paid for the content pass so I'm sticking around for the writhing wall and to do the story content for the other half of Solstice, but after that I'm not sure how long I'll be able to justify logging in to basically waste time.
I'm running dungeons to fill the sticker book, but there seem to be two types of pugs right now for normal dungeons. The first one has one (or two) players using the arcanist beam. When that happens, I might as well not be there. They melt everything so fast I can hardly draw my bow. Not fun. The second type is no beam. Those are still okay to run. At least I can get a hit in before everything is already dead. ZOS really needs to do something about the mess they've created with subclassing.
I have the most fun collecting lorebooks because it takes me all over the world, often to delves and other places I haven't been in ages. I've even come across side quests I hadn't done, despite completing all zones. But the fun is overshadowed by the fact that there are books in places I'll never go (like trials), so I can't complete the collection. Because of that, it's not as fun or satisfying as it could be and I could easily give it up.
As a veteran player (as in, has been playing for a while), I need to see something coming down the pipe next year that makes me want to stay. Endeavors and golden pursuits aren't enough when there are so many other games I could be playing and spending my money on. The question becomes why spend my gaming time and money on ESO, if all there is to do is repetitive tasks that I've already done hundreds, perhaps thousands of times before? I don't mind doing that some of the time, but not all of the time.

In this order: daily writs, endeavors, skyshards for alt characters, PD group events for alt characters, RND, guild dailies for characters still not max level, help guildmembers, and then log out for the day.
i used to enjoy pvp, seeing which people are on that day and which builds they are running.
with subclassing tho, people went from having 18 or more pvp specs to 1 or 2. i dont really enjoy the combat anymore, so i havnt been logging in nearly as much.
thats what i used to do tho. see which builds and rotations people are running, then work to figure out how im going to play around that to win. with subclassing, this isnt even fun anymore. and long faught, tough battles, just leave a salty taste. even when you win. for me, anyways.
According to Steam, I've played ESO for nearly 24,000 hours, so I guess I qualify as a "veteran."
Writs, endeavors, ToT, and any antiquities with leads that are getting close to expiring, then whatever I feel like doing.
That could be a bit of questing-- since there are still zones I haven't played through yet, as well as alts who haven't completed the Main Quest and guild quests yet-- but usually it's just running around doing whatever catches my fancy. There are a lot of dungeons I haven't done yet, as well as trials and arenas.
I've been spending a lot more time in Cyrodiil this past year than I used to, and within this past month I've also been spending a lot more time in the Imperial City sewers. But I haven't spent much time to speak of in Battlegrounds, the Infinite Archive, or for that matter Bastion Nymic. I do enjoy an occasional run through an Oblivion portal, or riding around different zones taking on the world bosses.
Elder Fashion: Online. The Outfit Station is the Final Boss of the game.
Really, for me it's just maybe a Dungeon here, an Endeavor there. Getting a Subclassed Skill Line to 50, jumping into Cyrodiil for a bit, taking another look at one of my character's builds to see if I can change anything, etc. All until the next Adventure Zone is released.
