Writs are based on a character's motifs learned, not the account's outfit styles unlocked.

I bought the Imperial edition as well, but my main crafter is a Nord. It only makes sense she'd have to learn the Imperial motif for writs.

When you create a character, they know their own racial motif by default. All other motifs have to be learned on that character.

If you make a Khajiit, that character will know Khajiit style, but not Imperial style unless they learn it later.

before the outfit station i could convert armor too imperial style, so why couldn't I craft the armor and then convert it too fill the writ?

Doesn't the Imperial Style motif book come with the Imperial Edition purchase in addition to unlocking the Imperial race? And if it didn't, it's not like it's all that expensive on the guild traders. I sell at least one every few months, and for pennies compared to what they used to sell for.

No, it allowed creation of the race and conversion of armor too that style. Which is my main gripe, seems misleading since It can only be applied now through the outfit station now.which also applies too the other styles I have from buying DLCs, although the motif is cheap too buy as you said, its the principle.

What styles exactly ? Motifs and styles aren't DLC-exclusive at all, you can read absolutely any style page of any DLC, even one you don't own, as long as you buy them from trading guilds. I may not understand what your message is here, because there isn't such thing as DLC-exclusive books or pages.

Maybe books or pages that are granted when you buy the DLC or Chapter in a premium-like edition ? The one with the collectibles and all ?

Sorry if theres misunderstanding, all im saying is if i have styles unlocked, such imperial/divine prosecution/etc from buying dlc or chapters that should mean i shouldn't have to buy or learn the motifs. Before the outfit station i could convert armor too that style, which in my understanding is the same as knowing the motif.

It's not. That's knowing the styles, not the motifs.

You need to know the motif to craft a certain style, and the more motifs your character knows the more writs they'll get. Motifs are by character.

Once one character knows a motif, you unlock the outfit styles across your account, and then you can use it in outfits. But that's just cosmetic.

Knowing a motif will unlock its corresponding style in the Outfit system. But knowing an outfit style does not unlock crafting knowledge to all characters. It's the same for every race and/or motif style in the game. It's not exclusive to Imperial.

when you are making an outfit, you aren't actually crafting it. you are just magically putting the image of that style onto your current gear. your gear does not change to that gear. just the appearance. when you learn a motif on one character, the entire account gets to learn the style for using on outfits, but in order to -craft- it for writs, you would need to learn the motif on that character
