PC EU server going down for maintenance at trader flip

The PC EU server is going down for an hour's maintenance at exactly trader flip time. Really? It couldn't be at ten minutes past?

For the same thing the servers were brought down for on Friday. With only just 30 minutes notice, it's starting to feel like it was done intentionally to hurt trading guilds or newer guilds who are just starting to try bidding.

    @ZOS_Kevin

Could you not postpone for an hour until trader swap is complete?

If not in future could you please take into consideration the trader swap before doing maintenance.

Just hope that this doesn't cause issue with the swap.

@ZOS_Kevin Imagine some GM's tend to plan their day to be present at the flipping moment. This sort of dedication does not really appear to be appreciated this way. :-(

It's terrible timing either way. As said above a lot of GM's are online to make sure the bids actually worked. Unfortunately there has previous instances where the system broke and we have reason to be suspicious of down time scheduled at the EXACT same time a system process is supposed to run.

I'd hoped that the Friday downtime (for the same issue) being late at night meant that there was some thought being put into the EU timings, but clearly not

It's not the weekly maintenance, none was planned this week. Probably some surprise maintenance to fix some bugs.

Let‘s see how long it is actually working this time. Last maintenance to fix it was Friday and it seems like they didn‘t fix anything.
If they‘d only fix the other issues within the downtimes…

Other games do hotfixes why can't ZOS?

I really do not get it why they do maintenance during prime time at all. Fixing lfg tool and home tours is not THAT important so they could not wait till night time or early morning when there is low population online.

This is really bad decision making against those customers who have job or go to school and prime time is the only time they can play this game. It is already hard enough to maintain ESO activity if you have weekday responsibilities.

Might I suggest for the dev team that you use more consideration and only go for maintenance during prime time if it is something TRULY critical you need to fix right away.

If they have to take it down to fix it then fair enough, but why choose an exact time that's significant to the 288 guilds with a trader this week?

It's because they do maintenance and patches with the workforce in the US. They got rid of thier European staff a long time ago which is why both servers get worked on at the same time.

Hopefully the flip went OK, we will find out in a couple of hours I guess...

    It was fixed.

But you know what happened yesterday whole day? It was ESO Store and Account maintenance.
Coincidentaly, when maintenance was over around 22 CET, Group finder and Home tours went kapput.

Interesting that is only EU. So it is now on the life support after the great HW refresh?

I am assumming it has to do with data transfer from the US servers.

Only thing that makes sense to me.

Then again it isn't my field of expertise.

Apparently not, no. Friday evening 10 PM CEST prime time for EU, today Tuesday 4 PM CEST just starting to come out of work wanting to play and expected to be down until 6 PM CEST. But considering they already had downtime for this exact same issue on Friday, I don't exactly have faith they won't extend the down time.

Also, why is this issue only affecting PC EU??? What is wrong with our megaserver lately? The issues just keep coming one after another...

Unfortunately, the timing was something we could not avoid. We had a small window to have this maintenance after we discovered the LFG issue this morning, without it cutting into other planned work. Otherwise, the issue would have gone unaddressed for a much longer period.

It was bad timing generally because this was not intended to happen. However, we thank you for your patience as we navigated through this. PC EU should now be open.

This is meant as feedback and not a dig. Maybe if you had said that in the original maintenance post it would have made us more understandable.

If that is true then that is a problem they have intentionally created as a company. Sure it is a business but there should be some real and balanced sense in making profit and keeping up good service. Sadly these days the markets and production do not care about that, only profits. And as we can see, "they" will always come up with some "nice" words and make it seem like "there was nothing we could do about it" or "this was the only way ". Lies. Lies all around.

Fair point. We were trying to be consistent with a previous post addressing the same issue. But understand how additional context would have helped in clarifying things. Thank you for the feedback.

At least PC EU gets something. There is complete radio silence from ZOS on the fact that PC NA has been having the same issue.
