Anisotropic filtering applied by Nvidia and Usersettings separately so you know

So, I decided to finally create this topic after long time I wanted to, so people can clearly see the difference in AF and how big this is... which is obviously... huge! So, in one hand, we have, Nvidia app, and AF 16x while MAX_ANISOTROPY in Usersettings is the default 0 .... while on the other..... AF in Nvidia is not set while I tested values from 0 to 4 in Usersettings, where obviously none applied and any of them from 1 to 4, lead to longer loading times, indicating that the game was trying to settle this change only to ignore it in the end.

Those pics were taken in 1080p, with Subsampling quality High and all graphics settings tuned for quality in general.... the difference is very clear and all you have to do is to look at the ground, even better if you switch between them few times and see it.

Nvidia is clearly the winner (again)! Not sure if this will work on AMD cards, as I recall their AF is meant for dx9 only, but you could try.

Funny thing, I'm old my eyesight isn't great, I can see no difference whatsoever! B)

Edit:- Actually the colours are brighter to me in the top image, the bottom one looks a bit faded.

This has been the case since launch :). I always applied it through the Nvidia control panel because of it.

Deleting the USER.ini file will restore everything to default won't it? Late last year I went from a AMD 5700 xt to a Nvidia 4070ti Super. While the performance was night and day in a lot of other games I feel like theres been very little improvement in ESO. Wondering if I need to purge all my settings as I've lost track of all custom tweaks I've done over the years. A fresh install is simply too mind numbing.

Yes, the usersettings.ini file holds them all. Deleting it will reset everything. I doubt that's the issue though.
