Should houses be added to Cyrodiil’s map so players can own and access them while in a campaign?

If you‘re inside that house you‘re either in the campaign and block it for others, while you’re not even in Cyrodiil, or it would be handled like delves in Cyrodiil, which means you will leave the campaign in order to enter your house and will have to wait in a queued loading screen if the campaign is pop locked.

Both ways are kinda bad, either for others or for you.
And how would porting to houses there work? You can‘t wayshrine port inside Cyrodiil and the port to house would mess with the Transitus system.

I think the houses close to but not inside Cyrodiil are enough.

    No,
because it would only be possible to access the houses by walking to them as you cannot wayshrine port. And if they are in Cyrodiil you would not be able to access them from outside of Cyrodiil, like the Alliance base Wayshrines.

More houses like Five Companions Keep and Grand Gallery of Tamriel are a better idea, on the edge of zones that border Cyrodiil.
Those zones are currently Reaper's March, Northern Elsweyr, West Weald, Craglorn, and The Rift.
When we inevitably get Nibenay Valley and Falkreath Hold zones there could be even more Cyrodiil homes.

I think they would need to make it specific like you can't bring scrolls, hammers, etc into a house. But I think having houses there would be a boon. I'd pay whatever price they ask if I get a home there.

They could make it like the delve and cheese portal. but make it where you can't go in if you're under attack.

If not a house, at least a room in the Inn behind the gate.

Cyrodiil is a war zone. No one would build a house and live in the middle of a war zone.

Housing in Cyrodiil is not a good idea. There are many reasons, but the most notable is managing faction populations with the inclusion of houses and getting to and from the house. The only way it would work would be to completely separate the house and access to it from Cyrodiil, which, in other words, means simply putting the house in a PvE zone instead.

One thought I did have that made me smile though was, gee, I wonder how many trolls would camp the door of houses in Cyrodiil just to gank unsuspecting PvE players who made the mistake of purchasing a house in Cyrodiil.

I disagree with this. People all over our world live in the middle of war zones. Also, npcs currently live all over cyrodiil.

I would say though that the haven of the five is sorta in cyro, as is the grand gallery of tamriel. You can see Hackdirt tower from the haven and you can see the Morrowind gate from the grand gallery.

I am waiting for one in or near Bravil to round it out. I think this is what zos is going for to address the crowd that wants cyro homes, tbh.

Perhaps if they ever remove population caps we can walk right into cyro. Would be awesome.

    Not by choice.

Cyrodiil is for war. It should not taken over by PvE features.

Disagree with this too. Cyro has plants, flowers, ore deposits, dungeons, and quests as well.

Also, some people run towards the firefight, some don't, and absolute statements are usually false.

I dont want there to be any impact to pvp and I certainly do not want cyro to be a pve only zone, but, with these caveats, I dont see anything wrong with houses in cyro. We have enough lag in cyro as it is.

Seriously, I wonder what it would add. Maybe one interactive door and some additional inanimate assets for the house.

I mostly share the viewpoint of "No" voters.
Immersion-wise, some civilians choose to stay in a conflict zone, coz of the “I'm born on this land, I will die here” worldview for example, but these are exceptional cases. Most civilians reasonably run from danger afap and wait somewhere safe for the end of the conflict before returning.
In terms of access, all player housing is instanced, and having an entrance in Cyrodiil would make it so much more annoying to come back to a locked server. If I queue in any open-world zone or IC, at least there is smth to do while I'm waiting for the queue to pop up. If I'm done with whatever it was I needed from my house, I want out straight away, not after 50 failed loading screens. Also, if some players only queue to Cyro to be able to enter their houses, they are making the queue unnecessarily long for PvPers.
Not to mention the amazing potential for ganking, griefing, and a tsunami of “make Cyro PvE coz I'm getting slaughtered on my doorstep” threads on forums.

What I would like to see though is some extra decor in forts Arrius, Glademist and Faregyl. All keeps and outposts have their distinctive interior decor, but afaik only Glademist has a "bar". I like to afk there when I need a short break, and the fact that the other two forts don't have a similar leisure areas makes me stick to only one faction. These forts could be upgraded with some kind of a "living room" with some tables and benches, a map of Cyro, a keg or two; a place that players could share to celebrate a victorious campaign, plan upcoming battles or simply regroup.
Considering housing in Cyrodiil makes me think that Cyro itself could be refurbished a little bit at this point, and that there could be ways for housing enthusiasts to participate in this process, like housing contests to pick the best decor option.

    What an insane idea.

We already have cross-faction chicanery, I can only imagine what would happen if an entire guild could port to a guildie's home deep in enemy territory. Or players who could run and hide in their home instead of getting killed, like you could in GTA

Cyro already has a ton of issues that zos needs to work out. Let's not add to that.

Hard no on housing in Cyrodiil. Too many reasons to list on why it's a bad idea.
