So ah yeop. This is still relevant. Not that it matters with the falling player numbers.

1 in 20 times I try to breakfree the game will let me first time.

Guaranteed jabs will lock up my player if I use it more then twice in a row. Pretty much any skill after 3 times will just cancel.

Heavy attacks just don't work.

I don't think tuning the game for 0ms was a good idea.

Since last week's patch/update, which resulted in server issues for some, I have been experiencing a weird, random lag spike that occurs out of the blue. This is something that has never happened before and it happened dduring general overland things or in dungeons and trials.

Disconnecting every 5 minutes, getting Error has occurred try logging in a few minutes, then I get Error Code 103 (4:5:319:0) failed to obtain server connection information.

It's been pretty good up until recently and now it lags horribly in the middle of combat the last several days. Skills not firing, bars not swapping, multiple presses to use potions/food. Feels like sludge.

Back to the way it was back in March.

Server problems again? Just got 2 unexpected errors and unable to connect twice after each logging.
Just ask a friend, he's in other country, like 2000 km away, and got unexpected error the same time I did, and he cannot login too.
Same problem anyone?

This is not an addon issue, my desktop (I just built it a month ago) runs the game fine so far, what little I play now a days. My gf's laptop - same exact addons (I actually have a few more, but the ones she does have, I also have) - can't even play at this point. Her laptop is way beyond spec for this game, always has been. As of this last update, loading into any zone can take upwards of 5 minutes...once in the zone, frame rate drops to 5fps and her entire system starts thrashing. Not a single other game has this issue, including ones waaaaaaaay more demanding that ESO.

I was able to get in and go about my business sitting literally right next to her on Sunday, on a severely less powerful laptop with zero issues. There's something seriously wrong with the client right now.

PC NA ping is normally 80ms for me, but today it's been sitting at 140ms and spiking to 450ms ~ 999+ms.

Tested my internet, monitored my router, all appears to be normal on mine and my ISP's end.

So are the server's being DDoS'd this weekend? Seems like we were having the same issue last weekend on 8/16/2025, except we were also being booted to login every 5 minutes.

I wish I could get 140ms reliably. I'm in the USA and I average 120-180ms when things are running optimally. It's often worse and always worse after porting and during any big fights in Cyrodiil.

Not saying what worked for me will work for you, but what I did that cleared this issue up for me was to completely reinstall minion and all my add ons fresh. It's kind of a pain, but it's not that bad, maybe 30 minutes to get it done depending how many add ons you have.

A tip though, pull your old add on file out of you live folder and keep it somewhere else. That way after you re-installed a fresh copy of minion you'll have a list of all the add ons and libraries you used to have so you don't forget any when reinstalling.

Not sure why it helped loading times so much, but after doing this I was instantly back to normal loading times from zone to zone and during start up. I'm guessing that after so many cut and pastes with updates to so many add ons some corruption gets introduced.

Just checked to see if the same ping and desync issues were occurring in PC EU servers, NOPE! I'm in central US, but my ping and desync are both better playing on the EU server than NA server. There's no light attack/abilities failing to cast on the EU server, and the ping does not spike randomly to 999+ms.

The very first post in this thread started in may 2024 (go to start of thread and you will see date). Moderators are adding posts from other thread into this mega thread which make it grow extremely large (right now at 126 pages).

In June 2025 (summer) we had several issues that OP are pointing out isn't the same as it where in 2024 as there have been a lot of patches and some (maintenance) server updates since then.

Since the last patch I have been getting ping spikes every time I try to play. Prior to this my ping was around 300, occasionally dropping for a few seconds to 283 or sometimes for a millisecond it could go as low as 264. Since the patch I have had the ping going up and down like a yo-yo, getting up to 999+ on a regular basis when I'm just doing writs in Vivec. Getting pretty annoying to run through 8 of my characters to do said writs, before I might go do Solstice dailies, but even those are fraught because of the ping spikes. I can't get out of stupid if I can't see it.

Edit: PC EU, and I'm in Australia.

For the last 6 hours, I've had little to no issues with lag on PC NA. So now I'm thinking the problem has less to do with external factors (DDoS, ISP issues, etc), and more to do with the servers being coded in a way that cannot handle the number of players playing during weekends.

If the latter is the case, then I worry for the future of this game. Why would you keep adding new features and so on that require even more server-side calculation when the servers are already unplayable during the weekends.

Going to try to play more in a few hours, if the problem is the server can't handle the number of players playing on the weekends, then all the issues from yesterday should start occurring soon as everyone starts waking up and logging in.

Had no issues while playing throughout the day until I went into Cyro which had one bar for each faction.

Latency would bounce between 300-600 constantly, other players were rubberbanding, at one point I had 999+ latency for about three mins and then I got disconnected.

It’s really a flip of the coin whether the game is playable or not.

I've also had lag spikes since the last patch, but only when I play in the mornings (EDT, PC/NA) - I believe that's evenings in Australia. It doesn't happen to me in the evenings EDT. Yesterday morning I was also kicked from a dungeon (right on the last boss grrrr), and the same thing happened to another group member before I was kicked, but he managed to get back in before the group finished. I didn't.

You know that there were a lot more players during Lockdown and none of these problems were present?

I have raised the Akami issue for over a year. My connection is an average 2-3 ms to the server EXCEPT for Akami. I have nothing but 50-60% packet loss and insane route numbers around the TWO Akami hops I have. I've shown over and over my routes without Akami and with Akami causing problems in the game.

I've been told what I am seeing is not an issue and plays no part of the problem. Got tired of arguing and just gave up.

@MrGarlic how do you get that info ^^ ?

Open a command prompt (Right click on the windows 'start' icon, select run and enter CMD in the text box)

Then type tracert 159.100.230.1

If any 'hop' indicates timed out, then that just means the router is configured to ignore trace requests.

EDIT: The IP address 159.100.230.1 is the Euro server. Change to 198.20.200.1 for NA server.
