Questions about leveling subclassing using writs and master writs in combo with XP bonuses

I'm trying to use writs and master writs to help level subclassing skill lines, but regular writs are doing pretty darn slowly to say the least. Master writs, on the other hand, for sure are a good way to speed level subclassing skill lines, as is turning in quests in Cyrodiil and other significant PvE quests. But I'm a PvP main, so re-running redundant PvE content is not my prefererance.

My main question is does having an XP scroll or potion active while doing normal daily writs inclrease the XP and thus the leveling of the subclassing skill line? Or is the XP potion/scroll irrelevant to how much leveling will happen with the subclassing skill line while doin normal daily writs? Is the bonus, if there is one, the same for when we do master writs for leveling subclassing?

I've already got the few subclassing lines I deemed most important knocked out, but I don't want to grind out the rest of them the same way. I'm not in a hurry for the rest, so I'd like to know the most efficient way to level subclassing skill lines using plain daily writs. Do the XP bonuses help the leveling of subclassing using normal daily writs or not?

And finally, would a double XP event help us speed level subclassing using writs or not?

TIA

I'd like to know the answer to this question myself. If I can just do some writs on my alts to get through subclassing all the skill lines I'd certainly get started doing it.

IMO, XP scrolls are a waste with daily crafting writs as the XP gained from those is very minimal. They're better for Inspiration than any actual XP gain. So yes, the XP you get from crafting writs, but not so much that you'd notice.

Master writs on the other hand reward significant XP. While I leveled up subclassed skill lines, I found that with a 150% XP scroll active and the Discipline Artisan CP perk, you can level a subclass to full with 29 master writs. Keeping in mind to slot each skill as you turn in each writ to maximize the return. If there were a Double XP event going on, it'd be even easier.

Using that method, I was leveling each subclassing skill line to 50 in 15 - 20 minutes. And that was without rushing or hurrying.

    Yes and yes.

XP scrolls and double XP events stack (the next one should be Witches' Fest, unless they throw in a surprise Explorer mini-event before then). And yes, both will increase the XP for slotted skills and their lines, so make sure you have the skills for those lines slotted when you turn in your master writs.

Daily writs are pretty inconsequential, but master writs are extremely helpful for levelling skills.

Also the new Discipline Artisan CP node in the green tree will help speed the levelling of those lines as well.

I always use XP scrolls when using master writs, and try to do it first thing so I use up my inspiration. If there's time on the scroll when I'm done with the master writs, I'll do one of these things:
    • Log off, and use up the rest of the time on daily writs over the next few days
    • Switch to training gear and a lightning staff and run Maelstrom Arena on normal
    • Switch to training gear and a lightning staff and run the first stage of Blackrose Prison on normal
    • Switch to training gear and a lightning staff and run the necropolis in Alik'r
... until the scroll runs out.

Daily crafting writs is for materials, not xp, you get an chance for surveys and at crafting level 50 you get an good chance for gold improvement stones and master wriths.
Master wriths give lots of xp and Writ Vouchers. Very nice then leveling up subclasses,
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Just from my perspective..

Master Writs, great xp always run a scroll/xp boost on hand in.

Daily Crafting Writs, not so great xp BUT I am personally not in a rush to subclass every skill line so I have started less interesting skill lines(to me) on all the characters I do daily crafting writs on, not the characters I play a lot though. I am not running 150% scrolls on these alts but I am running 50% ones(I have 100's of those). Every time a new skill in the line unlocks I add it to my active bar for hand in. I have to say it's an easy way to level skill lines with minimal input from me!! :)
    When people say to me........
"You're going to regret that in the morning"
I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!

Although daily crafting writs reward only a small amount of experience, remember that the amount of experience needed to level a skill line or morph is static and not scaled to your level, while the amount of experience you gain from quests is. That means it can be more efficient to use normal writs at the start to level the skill line and reach the first few morphs. Otherwise, you'll "waste" experience.

For example, if turning in a master writ gives you 50k exp, but your skill only needs 1000 experience to reach its morph, you've "wasted" 49k experience from the master writ, since the excess experience won't apply to the morphs.

The XP wouldn't be wasted because that surplus XP is still being applied to the skill line itself regardless whether the one skill is maxed Rank IV. And by the time you get to lvl 50 in the skill line, all the skills and their morphs will be at Rank IV.
