Constantly crashing

Hey hey.

I'm dumbfounded a little bit and don't know what to do.

Reinstalled ESO, made sure my proton prefix is removed and the game is crashing sometimes 30minutes into playtime, sometimes 15, sometimes 2 hours in.

Sometimes I get a generic crash report which doesn't give anything special, sometimes the game just freezes.

Reinstalled the game 2-3 times, tried in flatpak steam, native steam, nada. Same issue is happening. Also tried to change different proton versions.

Of course deleted my addons, doesn't affect anything.

I know you don`t have Windows but can you check your event viewer? Sometimes it can get you started on where the problem is at.

I didn't have anything special in the logs, ESO just froze and it's been like that for 5+ minutes.

Weirdly the launcher is not having an issue, so it's not that proton is having an issue, it's just the client.

Okay, happening to Elden Ring. Might be a fedora bug/KDE bug, I'm unsure. I'll keep the topic open for now but it might not actually be ESO-specific, I'm not too sure.

So I think I found the issue but I'll verify in a few days. BTRFS decided to die (there's a term involving a bed which I'd like to use, oh well) and looks like my HDD FS got corrupted. ESO is not on the HDD BUT steam recording is, and sometimes when ESO crashed, steam would restart.

Unmounted the RAID0 system and have ESO working for like 8 hours for now. I'll update if something happens.

I crashed after a LOT of time it did crash but 30m before that steam kinda restarted so idk. I'll edit my /etc/fstab and see to fix. Worst-case scenario live version of a Fedora OS and see to repair btrfs.

Well, I did a mages guild daily and my reward didn't have an icon... Then my armor didn't have an icon... Then I had no audio... Then I had no cursor... Safe to say, BTRFS decided to die.

I have reinstalled my system and downloading ESO.

Not sure if it's the fix but Elden Ring didn't crash for hours.

When I looked at ER crashing I saw some memory issues:

I ran a memtest and I had failing tests. My memory was clocked @ 7200 MT/s (but I've never ran a test). It was at 7200 for almost 2 years but kernel 6.15.9 did do some memory management so maybe it was killing the proces????

Either way, clocking it down to 6000 passed everywhere on memtest and I'll continue monitoring the situation.
