How Do I Make Money?

I've been doing crafting dailies every day, that's like 7k. I also sell motifs if I have them already but I don't get motifs every time I do like western skyrim or blackwood or high isle dailies and my rng luck is pretty bad so oftentimes I'll have nothing to sell.

How do people make enough to decorate their houses?

Not all what I do but things I know make money: dungeon motifs, dungeon monster masks, selling crowns for gold, selling dungeon/trial/exp carries, running a lot of trials (undaunted plunder), resource gathering & potion selling (especially columbine and dragon rheum), farming rare furnishing plans (especially in new zones), selling curated gear drops.

Many of us addicted houser's have been playing for a long time and have subsequently large bank balances.

I still do crafting dailies on multiple characters every day and the gold is nice but for me it's the other rewards such as surveys that create more income.

For example do 25 clothier surveys with plentiful harvest slotted, then refine those materials (with the right passives), hope rng rewards you and sell the Dreugh Wax. I would expect between 40 to 50 wax from those 25 surveys after refining the materials, currently on PC-EU that would return around 350-450k gold selling just below MM recommended prices.

I make furniture to sell too but I have extensive plans learned and can pick items I know will sell.

At the end of the day though, housing is truly expensive and for newer players is likely hard to engage in. <3
    When people say to me........
"You're going to regret that in the morning"
I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!

OP question was how do you make money. so to keep it on track

    1) writs - as you said, 7k per time. you can also use multiple chars. personally i have 14 chars, so an hours work = 78k or there abouts (i think its 5.6k gold for me). do that for 2 weeks and youve got a million straight away. create dummy chars if you need to - just for this purpose.

    2) Selling stuff. Motifs, any gold mats etc... . A basic purple non-base will go for 10k minimum. im not much of a motif trader tbh - but i gather theres money in it for the right ones

    3) vet trials - the base vet trials (hel ra, aa, sanctum) will net you 12k (plus another 10k on hard mode) and can be done in 15-20mins - even with pug's. other vet trials take a bit longer, but each completion is 12k minimum

    4) AP to gold conversion. A lot of people dont like PVP. so go and do that, get loads of AP - buy the PvP stuff (particually the materials needed to make stuff like dawn prism) and sell it at guild traders. i think they go for 25k each?, but you can make the 100k AP? you need to buy them in about 30 mins in cyro in a decent group just by following them.

    5) Materials selling. loads of people dont like gathering mats - a stack of 200 will net you a decent amount of any flower. simliarly, if you're doing writs, youll get the surveys. go dig stuff up and refine -and sell the gold mats

    6) perfect roe - they go for a lot of money, so go and sell those. takes a while to farm them but i think theyre about 20-30k each. if you just like fishing, its pretty mindless to just hit a button every few seconds. if you go for the master angler achievo at the same time youll kill 2 birds with one stone. i think i got about 80 perfect roe just by going for that achievement.

    7) trade trade trade. whack stuff in guild traders. even the cheap stuff adds up over time.

    8) alchahest... the little known secret. its basically completely useless but you pick it up from eveyrthing. i think im up to 90k of it. but a stack sells at the NPC traders for a decent amount. so just sell that.

if i think of any more ill post them

    9) base game public dungeons and AOE... just go into a public dungeon (the base ones are great) with a wall of elements and a big AOE damage. run round, wiping out groups. you'll get about 15-20k gold an hour doing that. boring - but it adds up.

    10) Alikr's dolmens... so this is a bit of a weird one but hear me out. usually you use them for level chars.. so fine.. but what you do get is get LOADS of rings... these give you the platings. the purple platings sell for a lot of money. you get a bit of gold too. Levlling chars, passive gold, purple mats to sell - whats not to like (oh yeah, its boring as hell)

    11) theivery. pop to a city and nick everything you can from peoples houses. with the passives you can steal 140 itesms per day which you can sell for "ok" money at the fence. - you should get about 20k for doing that. in a city like glenumbra or wayrest theres loads of houses, so doesnt take long either. someitmes you even get a purple item which sells for 1k on its own.

    12) PvP part 2 - the town dailies. if you can avoid the griefers, go any do the daily town quests. for rewards, these give you the rare cirtus materials which are worth a bit in traders.

    13) non- bound "wanted" set items... go farm - get hold of them and sell them at a trader. Deadly daggers (PvP) is a good one. one also quite sought after is Briarheart daggers (wrothgar) - and of course, Mothers Sorrow inferenos from Deeshan. . Other sets are available - look at the off-meta (particually those who dont have access to trial sets) - and see if it can be farmed and traded. - similarly - craft and sell. Orders wrath is very wanted right now - and not everyone is a crafter. consider crafting and selling this gear.

harvest every node you come across once you have the cp to increase it to 2x speed of animation, grab every psijic portal and thieves trove, do vet dlc hm dungeons to get motifs to sell, espec more highly wanted ones like dread cellar's crimson oath chest, but whenever a new dungeon releases their motifs immediately jump on that... when arms packs are up, do the hm of that dungeon once then spam it in vet non-hm and try to get the mask, etc... you can make mils just playing casually like this; but also talk to guild traders you come across with awesomeguildstore/tamrieltradecenter and flip stuff that sells often and is listed quite under its value by like 30%+ or more.

These are all accurate and amazing methods.

If you have ESO plus you can also farm the fragment drops in the DLC dungeons, depending on your RNG you can get your first drop in these dungeons rather fast.

For example, I still do Western Skyrim for the Stone Husk fragments, then the two public dungeons in Blackwood. All three of these framents first is double.

Then i head over the High Isle's two public dungeons, then West Weald's two and lastly Solstice.

Since your need for "money" is for housing, review how you can avoid using gold for it. Some furnishings are crown-only anyway, so that's real money, not in-game gold, that you're spending. Mostly, you want to make your own, farming the plans and the materials, and spending gold for the few plans you can't find.

And some furnishings are earned directly, and no gold is needed.

Here are two videos that may help you out to generate more gold.
Arttea does a great job in her explainer video. It's a little old now, but most of the points should still apply: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pQysEFHibc

Kalam0n also has a newer video on generating gold if you only have a certain amount of time to play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86B4-RjQxtE

These should help in addition to everyone's comments in this thread.

I only started doing my daily writs last week (I have just 1 character, it's at just over CP 500).
I guess making a couple of other characters would be a decent idea now, I had no idea some ways of getting gold were so quick!
