Does the game have a memory bug?

I have learned the piece of the set that is in the pic but the game is notifying me that I have not learned this piece. By the way, I`M WEARING IT!dp9hms465px6.png

Are you talking about that green icon in your inventory? That’s from an addon. I know, because I have that addon too, but can’t recall what it’s named right now. That’s not the green icon that’s now built into the game. The one from the game looks like a puzzle piece.
Nope, that's not it. Maybe reconstructed gear is bugged?

Let me get online and test some things to see if you’re right. But I don’t believe so.

You're right! It looks very similar to the icon (seen on the right) from Set Collection Marker.

That's the "puzzle piece" I was expecting to see, but it seems the game uses different icons for learnables like motifs, recipes, etc than armor and weapons. Not something I had even realized.

    So, never mind!

So I have seen this same thing on one of my characters, I can’t remember if it resolved itself or if I just clicked Bind to get rid of it.

Usually, equipping, deconstructing, or selling a gear item will "collect" it and add it to your sticker book. (Although there's a time delay on selling).

What's odd is that the game would be showing that icon on a piece of gear the player is actually wearing, since that *should* have "collected" it.

@madman65 - Is it showing in your stickerbook as collected? I also notice that the item is showing as reconstructed and am wondering if there is a bug with the way the icon is implemented. Does it show up for any other reconstructed items? If so, that should be reported to ZOS.

I have it on some reconstructed items, so there is definitely a bug. There are also other bugged items, such as jewelry surveys being identified as collectible lorebooks.

That last one I believe is supposed to be fixed in the next update? I think I saw something about it in another thread recently.

Yes, I recall seeing that note about the jewelry surveys! I’ll have to check on the reconstructed gear again and probably file a bug report.

I'm confused. Where do the screenshots show that the OP is wearing the item in question?

Edit: Nevermind, I guess it's the one with the check mark?

Yes - the display toggles between the icon and the check, similar to how a new item that you can research toggles between the ! and the thing I think is meant to be a magnifying glass (?)

Those achievements did not exist 4-5 years ago. They are new and do not retroactively count anything you did before they were added to the game.
