Should special crafting events offer double XP for crafting?

I was a bit disappointed today when I saw there was no XP bonus for crafting during this event. I realize it's a golden pursuit, and not an official event, but it still seems like we should be getting double XP for crating during this golden pursuit. I was thinking double XP would make sense, but maybe that's too much. If the idea is to encourage crafting, then double XP for crafting activities would do it for sure.

In your opinion, should we be getting an XP bonus during this event?

To clarify, I'm only talking about an XP bonus for crafting writs and master writs. Nothing else. I'm not talking about an XP bonus for any other activities.

Double Inspiration (not XP) is entirely reasonable for a crafting event IMO.

However, I don't know that I'd consider this an event since it takes all of 20 minutes -> 1 Day to complete. I think 3 weeks of bonus Inspiration would be a bit excessive.

That being said.. whatever happened to the Crafter's Celebration this year? It should have been in Q1. Did we have one around Feb/Mar and I just don't recall it?

The Crafter's Celebration was tested on PTS (unlike last year, when only a handful of players were aware of it through the marketing emails) to avoid a repeat of the unlimited Transmute Crystal exploit. The event hasn't run on LIVE again though.

It would be nice to get some double inspiration during this Golden Pursuit. Even without it, I've found it to be one of the more worthwhile Pursuits.

It's not an event, like Zeal or Crafter's Celebration or whatever. It's a checklist of "do some of these tasks and get some rewards." It's kind of like saying "there's pursuits to go beat up on stuff, so why is there no XP buff to go with this?"
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

Double XP would be OP for this GP.

Increased inspiration would be nice for players who have characters that haven't levelled up crafting skills - good opportunity to get some progress in while pursuing the pursuit. Otherwise, that's a lot of activities/options/rewards already!

You just made the case for why there should be double XP for crafting included in this pursuit. Without something to keep the players engaged for the duration the "event" is over in just a few hours or less.

There's already too much of xp boosts to even think of it as the special event thing. It also makes the game progress for the newer players lot faster which isn't the best thing for such a game, jumping straight to the higher levels isn't working out as we might observe with people lacking obvious experiences already in their hundreds of CP levels.

But research time could be halved for the events like this, if not more. This is unnecessary grind for something that matters so little in the long run.

What about the veteran players that already have all these items? If there is no XP bonus for crafting there is nothing in this GP for them. I'm one of those players.

I already have 75,000 seals of endeavor. (nothing but flash cosmetics in crown store, so no interest there)
I already have 25,000 writ vouchers. (already bought everything vendor has to offer and have over 500 aetherial ambrosia)
The crafting stations are virtually useless without the ability to donate them to a guild to build a guild house with all the stations.

So, without an XP boost for crafting, this GP offers nothing to the vet players they don't already have an overabundance of.

Just want to follow up here. The Golden Pursuit is not classified as an event for us. So we do not offer double exp. unless there was a very specific reason to do so. If it overlapped with an event, that would be one thing, but that is not the case with this.

The GP is optional. If it offers nothing a player wants or needs, that player can simply choose not participate in it and stick to the activities they find more suitable to their playstyle.

The game is optional. So your suggestion is less than helpful. But you do make an important point. When a game no longer offers it's loyal, long time players anything, it is time for them to move on to some other activity in life or play a different game.

Have to agree with @reazea on this one.

The GP takes less than a few hours to complete if you grind it out. And if we don't grind it out, we'll have done all these activities in three weeks time anyway. So there is nothing to do really. The bonuses are minimal, and the insult is that the crafting benches, the top tier reward, are bound. So we can't even donate the benches to our guilds for building a guild house.

Another totally "meh, so what" GP this time around too.

    Please try harder ZOS.

The attunable tables are a very expensive item in terms of writ vouchers. There were 4 of them I think, that is worth 1000 writ vouchers. Trust me, it takes a while to get that many. The last set of 3 we received in a previous event I saved in my bank and eventually used them to get my own GMC tables. I greatly appreciate items like this.

    Now, you're being difficult.

While I congratulate you for your many accomplshement, and the many hours your poured into the game, the fact that there is "nothing but flash cosmetics in crown store, so no interest there" is a you problem. 1500 seals is a very nice reward none the less.
So is "already bought everything vendor has to offer and have over 500 aetherial ambrosia". A you problem.

There are always people that won't like/need the rewards. They are still valid, though, and there is no need to cather to systematically everyone.

No need for double xp. XP is plentifull enough.

    Its not an event.

Golden Pursuits are more like an infrequent and flexible mix of endeavors, daily quests, and daily login rewards. Its not even the rare mini events.

Personally they should remain the same. ZOS should run the exp mini event more often and ticket events somewhat less often. As event fatigue is a real thing.

I had 25,000 writ vouchers. 250 writ vouchers/bench isn't that much. The tables that you load your attuned tables into are a bit more expensive, but I went ahead and bought one each of those and am loading the designated attunable stations into them. They're not that hard to get if you do writs on just one toon every day. So I went ahead and started building my very own personal guild house with all the crafting stations. Only know 4 sets so far, but at least when ZOS gives us more clutter in the form of BOUND attunable crafting stations I can use them instead of deconning them now.

These awarded crafting stations absolutely should not be bound.

The GMC tables are more expensive than the attunable tables, but you only need one of each, not 81 of each. I don’t know if you mean doing master writs on only one toon or daily writs, but either way 87,000 vouchers will take a long time to get. I had about 65k vouchers from years of master writs, and it still took a while to obtain more master writs myself (not buying them) and spending some gold on guild traders to buy tables when I found them cheap.

It would be nice if these tables could be given away or sold, but I guess the devs prefer to award these to the player doing the work in the GP. I hate to see the value of such a generous gift being dismissed so easily. They could just not award them at all if enough people complain like you.

We should have been able to donate the tables to our guild for the guild house or sell them in a guild store. That's their point. Most people will never need more than one basic crafting table for each craft. Any more is storage clutter and the basic tables really aren't worth that much, as other posters have pointed out.
