PVE Complaints and Other Rants From My Point of View

I hope this message does not get taken down but who knows with their AI doing the scanning.

Complains and Rants:
1. We are told that we can play any class to do any content in the game but that is not true. It seems like to do some of the normal vet content these days, you need 2 uber geared tanks (DK and Necro), 2 uber geared healers (Warden and whatever else), and 8 arcanist dps. I do not mind challenges in the game so I am not looking for easy passes but when you seem to have to do the content with a specific group makeup then it is no longer flexible. Shouldn't the goal be to make all the classes viable in the endgame content?
2. The endgame trial PVE content seems to be based on the maximum potential damage output and not the lowest. I realize that some sweaty guilds/groups might get bored but that is why there should be tiers to delves, dungeons, trials, etc. Normal should be based on 20k to 50k parse dps, normal hardmode ( I know this does not exist but it should) should be based on 50k to 80k parse dps, normal vet should be based on 80k to 125k dps and vet hardmode should be based on 125k+ dps.
3. Seems like every time people complain about the arcanists dps, all of the other classes are nerfed somehow someway and the arcanists are buffed. This I do not understand.
4. I am tired of every time the PVP community complains about damage being too high or too low or tankiness being too high or too low or sustain being terrible or this set is too power and this one is not or the burst damage is too high or too low or what have you, the PVE community is the one that ultimately suffers. There are changes coming based on the PTS to heroism that are for the PVP community but they have a bigger impact on the PVE community. I realize the game is trying to do both and is trying to please both sides but the PVE community is where the money comes from because with any MMO that has both PVE and PVP, the vast majority are PVE and if they continue down this path of lets make the PVE community mad, then ultimately we will all leave to find another game. This is not a threat but a reminder to think about the changes that have an impact to the overall game and not just run some sort of simulation and say this is a good change.
5. Goes with item 4 above. The PVE and PVP algorithms or whatever is being used need to be separated. I cannot believe there is no way to make PVP changes in this game that does not have an impact on the PVE.
6. I am tired of the sets being good and then getting changed to point where they are worthless because a small group of people complain. I thought the whole point of the way the gear sets were established is so that no gear set is terrible but has it usefulness but lets face it, that is not the case and nearly 95% of the gear sets are there for the sticker book because they are not used in any content. In most MMOs, the gear is based on tiers but in ESO it is based on 2 to 5 piece stats. Which leads me to the next point with the gear sets, there needs to be an addition of some new stats that are beneficial be it to PVE or PVP or both.
7. How is it that the add/mobs/etc know exactly who the healer is before the fight even starts.
8. Please stop trying to nerf the one bar heavy attack Oakensoul builds but instead embrace it as one of the potential builds that can put out comparable dps to a two bar setup. I do not care what the sweaty guilds/groups/content creators/etc like or dislike about the Oakensoul ring. I have heard so many people say that Oakensoul does not belong in this group or that or in this trial or that. Why? Are you saying that a person who is partially disabled and can maybe press 2 or 3 buttons at most should not be able to enjoy the endgame content because they cannot mash 10 or 12 buttons super fast?
9. Last one for now. Please decide on the direction you want the game to go. Do you want higher dps or lower? Do you want to focus on PVP or PVE? Do you want group flexibility or do you want static group design for endgame content? It seems to me as a PVEr that right now there is no clear direction on the game but knee jerk changes are being made without really understanding the impact of those decisions because a small portion of a specific community is complaining. There have been a lot of good and positive suggestions such as making the 5 piece set stats fit into a 3 piece set to allow more gear options. Adding new items to gear such as gem slots or what have you to increase/decrease threat/stats/dps/etc.

I hope this was helpful to some that are afraid to voice their concerns with the game. I have been playing since launch with the exception of about a 1.5 year hiatus and have never really spoken up about my concerns with the game and I believe that is true for most of the PVE community. Sure there are some in the PVE community like content creators who will speak up but I think the vast majority of the PVE community just takes whatever changes are thrown at them and then silently adapts or leaves. I think they do not say anything because they realize that most of the time it falls on deaf ears but I want this game to thrive. I have played many MMOs for years and IMO this game is far superior to most of them.

Your #4 point couldn't be more wrong to be honest. An overwhelming majority of balance changes done to the game throughout eso history has been done with PvE in mind. A certain part of the PvE community loves to jump the "blame PvP" bandwagon whenever something gets nerfed or adjusted, but in reality those changes have been done due to certain unintentionally or unwanted usage from PvE players (often score pushers or similar endgame groups). In few occasions sure, PvP can be blamed, but it's more of an exception than a reoccurring pattern. I personally have zero issues with ZOS not seperating PvP/PvE, and I absolutely despise the attitude that PvE should be some unchecked power creep paradise where balance should never be checked or adjusted. If anything PvE should be more frequently adjusted than PvP to avoid unnecessary powercreep that makes the game obsolete and unfun.

To adress your #4 point more, the ult changes was funny enough mainly to adress the insanely high ult regen in PvE where certain support builds would have ridiculously high uptime on certain defensive ultimates (like barrier). I've even read some threads on the forums and discord referring to a specific build even that these changes seem to adress specifically.

Im confused... The issue is you don't feel like others classes are viable on PvE because ppl preffer meta and smooth Gameplay on a PvE game? Like i can do trials with any class. If the guild is forcing 150k dps thats a them issue not yours. Find a new one. Others can play what they want. Same as you can. Since... You like Challenge on PvE games.
And wouldnt others doing more dps mean its ok to bring weaker members?
Like... I think knowing mechs matters more.

Nerf Beam to the point it aint meta and what you think happens? Lots of players return? Or...?

Jabs would probably replace it also.

Heres the main issue. People like arcanist because it is perfect, no other class is. Só should something that is perfect BE ruined so it feels meh to use like rest? Or should the rest get improvements to feel better to use on a PvE game?

And honestly classes arent really classes anymore. The game isnt balanced without subclassing in mind anymore.

For point 4 yes. The games balance is a disaster also because of pvp and PvE being connected.
they are trying to fix it with vengeance, but the main issue is with vengeance everyones equal. Theres no One man army op player. Só the SIDE with most players Will likely win. Which removed player power fantasy.

I can say PvP balance has ruined many things on PvE... But some classes like dk or nightBlade suffered a lot more from it.

Warden was always One of weakest dps on PvE due to the class being strong on PvP.

Oakensual shouldnt Be used in cloudrest due to mechs.
And while it should BE strong. Player skills needs to BE rewarded also.

To answer all your questions at once: ESO is about choice. The tagline for the game is: Any Class, Any Race, Any Role. When update 34 launched, we had 67 Unvigintillion (big number, look it up) options for building a character. Lots more now.

Play what you want, if you don't like people telling you 'you need xyz or you can't join our group or clear XYZ', then leave them and find new people. They are out there. You are the one paying for your game, and as a game, if you aren't having fun, do something else.

Meta does not exist. Too many things to fully test in a 3 month period to determine what is objectively best. Doesn't exist. Over 7 billion possible 'viable' builds you could potentially create, even if you could fully test all of them one per second, it would take you over 3000 years. That was the math done around update 34, now there's waaay more. Tip: find what you like, play how you want, and juat go get ibto the content you like and stop worrying about what other people think. Do things to make yourself happy, not to please other people.

And with that, best of luck, have fun, and go smash stuff!
