Add Editable Notes Field to Character Select Screen?

I’d love to see a small editable “Notes” section added to each character’s panel on the character select screen.

Right now, we can view each character’s name, race, class, alliance, level, and location — but for players like me who use multiple characters for crafting, storage, and writs, it’s difficult to remember who is holding what without logging in and checking manually, or keeping notes somewhere else.

Even with ESO Plus, bank space can be tight, and I rely heavily on my 20 characters as writ crafters and gear mules. It would make inventory management far more efficient and help players better organize their characters.

Thanks for considering this small but impactful quality-of-life improvement!

There is an addon on PC called "Inventory Insight" that logs all items you own as long as you log into those characters, activate the banks, storage coffers, even houses if you opt for it, etc. It may come to console if it hasn't already, but I do not play console or know if it is possible.

If you have issues with memory, then one other option is to use a phyical or digital notepad to make small notes about your characters and reference it when you need something OR equip a unique mount or pet you can name and associate with X and just know that your character with X mount/pet equipped is Y designated character.

That's my suggestion too, even if you're hoping ZOS will add something it could be a temporary solution until then.

I've got notes on my PC for several games, and for console games I either use the notes app on my phone or if that's not enough I put something on Google Docs.

I have a friend who buys a themed notebook whenever she starts a new RPG and uses it to keep notes while she's playing, and I like the idea but I don't have the space, money or time to take it that far.

As cool as this feature would be, it adds unnecessary overhead to database storage and syncing, and ZOS's priorities are on trimming down that fat rather than to add more.

I personally just used a spreadsheet and remembered them all. Spend a few hours setting that up and transferring items across your toons, and it becomes way easier to remember where everything is. I also use the PersonalAssistant addon to automate the banking and withdrawing of certain items with profiles for each character.
