I've got a few QOL questions here:

I may have missed some information as to why certain things haven't been implemented or haven't happened, but regardless, here are a few questions:

1) Why do we still have to do the entire introductory quest line on every single character for companions - and every single companion at that? I feel like it'd be VASTLY better if ZOS gave us the achievement after completing it and allowed us to use them instantly upon initial character creation. Same goes for companion customization and updates! What happened here? Are we just infinitely adding more companions but never improving the system? I'd love to use all collected hairstyles, facial hair, skins, and even cool player sets on my companions! And give them their own inventory to carry stuff! That'd be so cool!

2) Why do our initial in-game settings get reset with every character? There should be an account-wide toggle if we'd like to allow us to apply all settings (nameplates, camera, gameplay, social, etc) to all new characters and then change minor things from there. It's frustrating to have to do this every single time. There may be a PC addon for this, sure, but this should be native to the game IMO.

3) Why are we still having to slot green tree passives? I don't understand this because they don't add any additional power - these things should be all passive and things we can spec into as we spend more time in the game. If I'm 3600 CP for instance, why can't I be good at stealing and fishing? Why must I choose between them lol?

4) Why is CP capped at 3600? There's no reason whatsoever, outside of maybe not having to spend a whopping 3k gold to respec, to even have CP past 1500 because that's generally when you've got the important passive nodes and you're able to slot all of your important nodes. So if there's no reward and no reason for them, why even cap them? Just lift the cap :) Also, dish out cool titles and mounts for your dedicated players hitting 2k, 2.5k, 3k, 3.6k CP! :)

Just some minor questions I had when talking with a new player buddy of mine the other day that I really didn't have good answers for lol. @ZOS_Kevin any insight?

    1) It's so annoying. I just don't bother anymore.
    2) Should have been made an in-game option long time ago.
    3) Green tree should only be passives.
    4) Increase rhe cap? Why not?

    1) quest completion is character-specific. 1.b: That's just not how companions work in ESO.

    2) Doesn't exist as an in-game feature at this time. If you are on PC (maybe console too), look up the addon "Synced Account Settings".

    3) Due to how the CP system is at this time, it makes sense to have some things slottable.

    4) That is the number the devs decided on.

    1) I think companions should be totally sync'd, rapport, quest progress, etc. Option to reset their story if you want to replay it. Furthermore, lock the rapport at cap, I don't want to worry about picking the wrong bug around my companion, or entering a thieves den. I saved their life / solved their worldly problems, and they are still going to get annoyed at me over that? It's not like negative rapport at that point withdraws the perk they give you.
    2) Agree
    3) Green should not be slottable, entirely passive, and be persistent through the armory builds. Make it 50,000 gold to reset. That way you are locked in, it is the cost of the Green tree. Perk - It has no slots, Unperk - It's meant to be quasi permanent.
    4) For most, it's a non-issue.

    1) So, these aren’t really solid answers, more just a “this is how things are.” I understand that’s how quest completion works, I’m asking, why not make this feature account wide as a QOL feature? Why not add customizable options to companions?

    2) Yea, figured it was an addon. Not made it to console yet!

    3) Again, I know that’s how it is currently lol, why haven’t we moved away from this? What’s the reasoning ultimately? Let’s innovate and make this better

    4) Wonderful lol

Why do some companion passives work always and account wide and some only with active companion ?

Which ones need a companion active? As I recall, once you have max rapport you do not need to have the companion out anymore. That is how it works for me (unless I'm forgetting some obscure perks). For example, once my main had max rapport with Azzandar, all other toons that unlocked him were able to receive Research Portfolios without him being present.

I don't think your characters need to have unlocked any Companions once you've earned their perk on one character.
(i.e., I believe their perks are account-wide once the perks are unlocked.)

I have Mirri unlocked on only a couple of my characters, but all of my characters get her Hidden Treasure Bags that drop occasionally from chests. Most of my characters don't have any Companions unlocked.
(because I refuse to do their unlock quests more than once at this point; not gonna do it.)

That is even better if that is the case. The only perks I really cared about were Portfolios and the Fishing one. So, I unlocked the corresponding companions for all the toons that needed them before I reached max rapport so I could use them right away with a companion out.

There are certain achievements tied to the companions. If you complete those for each companion (I think it should be: reach max. rapport, reach max. lvl, call the companion once when reached max lvl and complete their quests) their passives will unlock accout-wide.

You basically need to level and complete the major achievements for each companion once to get their passive for your whole account.

But we need to unlock the Companions on every character that wants to actually use them. Their job is to aid us on our adventures and fight along side us, not just provide passive perks.

Personally, I always vote no on Account Wide Companion Rapport...

This took a bit of work, but I would not want it on every character

They made more of them passive but there are still several that need to be slotted.

Call me pragmatic, but the short answer for all four is "because ZOS said so and they haven't changed their minds (yet)".

If you'd like to add to your list, why are there almost 100 delves in the base-game, but only 15 of them can be the target of a daily? Why are there 36-38 public dungeons (depends on whether Oblivion Portals count and whether they count as one or two since the Atoll is accessible from Blackwood and the Deadlands), but only 15 are the target of dailies? Why are there only three mounts purchasable for gold? Why can we only have three skill lines? Why can we only have five abilities and one ulti on a skill bar? Why no spears? Why can everyone (except us) make a portal to a destination? Why won't bosses stay dead? Why are there 17 Khajiit furstocks, but only one is playable? Why does completing Volenfell leave you in combat-mode until you physically exit the dungeon? The possibilities are endless and they all have the same answer.

For #3, I'm CP2100 and good at fishing, stealing, and harvesting. I'm failing to see a problem there.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.
