I've been playing Eso for 10 years, and poor Finedrin in Rawl'ka has been in the stocks for at least that long. I think we should speed up the judicial system and launch a quest to free him. I think he's paid for his crimes for long enough. FREE FINEDRIN!!

Too many resources being diverted to Cyrodiil and now Solstice. This is likely a court marshal or even military tribunal since he was accused of "dumping said refuse on the head of the Altmer commander Faruin". I don't see much prospect of moving that justice system along any faster, or even any kind of appeal from us mere citizens.

Who remembers back at launch when ZOS were keen to talk up their phasing system which would allow the world to react to your activities and reflect the current state based on what quests you'd done and choices you'd made? I think the example given was clearing a village of werewolves, if you completed the quest then the village would become peaceful with no more werewolves and instead you'd find vendors and maybe follow-up quest givers.

You can still see some relics of this in the base game, like the different versions of Bleakrock Isle depending on whether it's on fire or not, but nowadays it's rarely used and when we complete a quest now we are just told that "a few stragglers of the werewolves/daedra/undead/cult/etc remain" and remain they do for ever and ever. The village will never be peaceful again.

Anyway, this post made me think of that and perhaps Rawl'ka should have eventually shifted into a new phase where Finedrin gets out of the stocks.

Really should be part of the main quest storyline in an upcoming expansion/season. Would be rather interesting.

He's in the stocks for over 10 years now and hasn't starved yet, so he's probably some obscure daedric entity. He should remain where he is.

To heck with Finedrin he committed the crime he can do the time. It is Burtle that needs freed. That poor little puppy did nothing wrong and all the Khajiit just stand there gawking at him.

Burtle is terrifying and should not be allowed to roam free.

Rawl is a major player hub, so I don't think that would be a good idea.

"Finedrin" is actually an actor, hired to portray the Breton leading man for a movie being filmed in Rawl'kha, "Finedrin Rides Again".

They've been filming for years because the footage keeps being stolen by skeevers.

Nope, Finendrin must stay in the stocks, because the voice-over in Rawlkha ('this one sentences him to the stocks until he shows proper repentance...') is one of my comfort things in the game and it'd be sad not to hear it again.

Lol i always thought this was for a quest i never got around to. Kept meaning to look it up so he would shut up. But then I switched crafting areas to high isle and stopped caring.
