I think people's reactions are a little over the top. Frustration is absolutely understandable, but a lot of the nasty things people say about the people at zos seem a bit harsh.
I would have liked to play right now too, I have 2 days left of a sub so I do think it sucks a bit not being able to. I also think more transparency in the communication would be nice though.
Transatlantic connections are brutal. There was a period where undersea cables were being cut intentionally over and over.
I get it... it's frustrating... but there are SO MANY things outside of ZoS control when it comes to linking NA and EU and login servers.
I'm not a network admin... with that being said... I'd be curious to know if the login services are on the NA server.
So when EU tries to login they have to hop to NA and then bounce back to EU once they are in. Can't imagine how difficult it would be unwind that (if that is the case) and have EU have their own login on NA.
Again, literally have zero idea if that is the case.. I'm just trying to read Kevins message and figure out what EU is needing to ping NA (aside from redundancy and backups etc or behind the scene things). I'd think all the services needed for live in NA would also be on EU so there isn't this back and forth.

So howcome we can play on the NA server when these issues occur?
If what you were saying was the case we wouldn't be able to play at all because the transatlantic link is weak.
Getting a bit fed up now with all these login issues on all the EU servers.
It's becoming a bi-weekly occurrence.
Why is it the EU gets no love at all, whilst the NA servers run along nicely without all the issues we have to endure.
Isn't about time there were some transparency as to why these issues are continuing.
For the love of God, pull yours fingers out and fix this ongoing problem.
