[Crafting] Make Jewelry Crafting Base Game

With another game system in scribing being base game now, and the re-balance to jewelry materials bringing it in line with the other crafting skill lines, it seems silly that Jewelry Crafting is still tied to owning Summerset. At the same time and for the same reasons it seems needless that jewelry crafting still doesn't have a hireling, but that's been brought up before.

✭✭✭✭✭I think the main problem would be the need to add the Jewelry certification NPC to all of the other game zones where the two main crafting certification NPCs are found. I don't know how involved that would be. One alternative might be to limit it to just one zone per alliance, namely by adding him near the NPC who accepts master crafting writs, which should be less involved-- and which seems like an appropriate place for an "exclusive" crafting certification NPC to hang out. Another alternative would be to just add the Summerset chapter to the base game the way the Morrowind chapter was, although I don't know how likely that would be.I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!3 -
mdjessup4906✭✭✭✭✭Agreed. I have Summerset, but its pretty silly that that is still dlc gated with all the changes. And from someone who mods npcs into skyrim, I dont think plopping a copy of the jewelry guy into the same spot the other trainers are would be terribly difficult or time consuming.Edited by mdjessup4906 on July 14, 2025 8:50PM2

✭✭✭✭✭They could always do something similar to scribing, and move the jewelry crafting dude into an instanced area and allow the certification quest to be started from the crown store.
But yeah I agree that it should really be a base game feature at this point, especially after mats were rebalanced.
Summerset is great content that would stand on its own if they wanna keep selling it as a DLC, regardless of being tied to jewelry crafting, imo.3
