Incredible the lengths you have to go to just because you don't want Windows.

My windows 10 laptop (was originally windows 7) can not be updated to 11, but it is still a very capable machine.
    My route
    Install linux mint
    Install lutris
    Install eso
    Play eso.
Find the "live" folder install the very few mods that i use.
    Play eso

I use lutris for Eso and Ubisoft games, everything else that I have plays through steam.
I could play eso through steam but you are account locked, i have seven (7) accounts.

    No issues no drama.

I have 6 ESO accounts, and I was playing all of them through Steam. You just have to setup multiple Steam accounts to link the extra accounts to. When you start up Steam it presents you with all the Steam accounts you have. You just pick the one you want to start which is tied to a specific ESO account. I actually found it quicker swapping accounts in Steam this way than with the traditional ESO logout/login.

You can also add eso64.exe as a "non-Steam" game. Enable the compatibility layer. Then launch and get the normal non-steam login. This is how we easily share one computer with multiple accounts.

@stitchesofdooom Thank you for the hearty welcome! It's great to be here. I can't believe how fast my computer boots up now. Everything is so smoooooth and nice. I do like Cinnamon a lot; haven't tried others...yet. :) When I need to replace my GPU, I'll certainly avoid Nvidia, though it seems to be working well, I'm wondering if it's not the cause of a little bit of hiccupping I see in game from time to time. Not familiar with Raspberry Pi, no, but it sounds delicious! Endless possibilities, indeed!

I'd bet my delicious cup of coffee that NVIDIA is your problem.

By the way, if you're going to try a different desktop environment, I strongly recommend KDE plasma with sweet icons

Oh by the way, after the game starts up, kill the game launcher. It helps.
