Shitloads of magicka. At vr2 i'm about 2000 magicka.

Siphoning attacks toggled + concealed blade + dark cloak + reaper's mark + any *** to fill up, using the siphon aoe attack ups your damage a lot for example

Basically i stun-lock through all fights. First mob in packs you almost kill instantly with the crouch + concealed blade (attackin from behind). Putting reaper's mark on a target will get you back to full health when you kill it. (So before you initiate the fight, put the mark on the 2nd kill you will make for example).

Since all mobs go instantly "locked" when you enter dark cloak, they never get off any heals or similar. So you just cloak + blade + autohit+autohit+ cloak blade + etc.

Luckily the stun from the blade 4s makes you able to throw in some autohits before the mob gets back on you and you cloak again, which together with siphoning attacks make you have almost unlimited magicka and can keep on going forever. And luckily, A LOT of mob gets this stun, if they don't, you are pretty screwed.

Anyone else have a build that works for packs of 3 or more npc for NB VR3+ ?

    use nearly same tactics:
    1. sneak -> Surprise Attack -> Heavy Attack -> Killers Blade -> Kill + full Health
    2. Shadow Disguise -> Surprise Attack -> Heavy Attack -> Blinding Flurry -> Killers Blade -> Kill
    3. same as 2.
    4. when become critical -> Soul Tether (ultimate)

I have posted videos showing this tactic working on enemys 2 VR levels above my own to prove that (Even tho it is bland/repetitive/Boring) it works and in my opinion makes NB's just as effective as any other class. Best part is this is possible with DW and Medium armour (What people are crying out for) yet apparently an assassin build is not viable. Anyway nice build and for the last spot that is pretty much not needed I like Blood Craze just for the bleed damage when fighting 3 man mobs.

If you look at the tamrial foundry there is an offensive resto staff build that makes you more of a Nightmage in light armor that is extremely effective. It doesn't play much like a rogue but it works well.

The basics are run around in full light armor, stack magica and use a Resto staff. I start in stealth open up with a vieled strike (either morph), usually that gets them down far enough to kill that target quick. Use Aspect of Terror (AE fear) to get some control on packs. Then you start working on them with a switching off light attack then strife (swallow soul) with leeching strikes always on. When they get to 20% damage finish off with impale. You can also through some resto staff heals on a second bar for when you get in trouble. Something like Mutagen is nice you can put it on before you start a fight and gives you a long heal over time and a heal if you get below 20% health. That mixed with fear as a control, healing from strife and heals from the light attacks you are weaving in and out from leeching strikes and you keep good resource management and the health keeps coming in. Also holding the Resto staff can get you a 10% bonus damage in a passive which makes your spells hit a good bit harder.

If you want to play more like a rogue you can still use the Aspect of Terror to try to control adds to give you time to get them one at a time. Another trick is to use Dark Shades. Start in stealth send them in at one of the pack, do your veiled strike one, usually you can follow that up with a heavy attack and impale and they are dead. Then walk back out of the pack and hit sneak again. They seem to fixate on the dark shade and let you go back in to sneak. It is kind of slow but also works.

Yeah I feel it is pretty boring setup to play, basically cloak hit cloak hit cloak hit, and moving around to staying away from hits.

Some times, when unlucky and the abilities bug out, never hits, and you come out of stealth looking like a donkey, things get screwed up, you just hope you have enough magicka to stealth again and retry, then it happens a 2nd time, and you are getting deeper in ***. Usually it means i have to weapon swap to restoration healer build with siphoning attacks to heal myself and autohit my magicka back until i can swap again for the cloak dps.

But anyone successfully running a build that is not cloak based with NB for VR content at it is working?

I would like to rescind my earlier comment about blood craze as I just found a fault with it being the the bleed damage can kill an enemy before i use Killers Blade effectively denying me my heal.

A lot of skills change depending on the situation.

First tab 1vs1 and up to 4v1. Mostly the same approach you use but I hold my shield up and surprise attack bash bash bash . SD+ surprise attack + heavy attack + bash bash bash +killers blade.
Second tab for groups >3 . Max I managed was 8-9 in a VR7 public dungeon. The idea is to gain ultimate fast/ survive and keep the mobs close to you then use veil of blades.
Switching between them can be very effective against some world bosses and annoying mobs like gargoyles.

I like this build! Only question I have is about the use of Siphoning attacks over Leeching strikes, is this because having the Heavy Armour etc makes health less of an issue and Stamina more of an issue?

    My setup for Bloodmage:
-Breton Race (for Magicka passives. I know people say it doesn't matter about race, but I tend to think that it doesn't hurt to have the passives a Breton has)
    - 5/2 Light/heavy armor
    1st bar: (Healing/Support)
    Resto Staff
    1. Funnel Health
    2. Siphoning Attacks
    3. Combat Prayer (swap for Unstoppable if I die from too much Aggro)
    4. Mutagen
    5. Healing Springs
    Ult: Soul Siphon

With the above build, I am basically a never-ending pool of healing, and I recover Magicka almost as fast as I can spend it.

    Swap: (AoE/Damage)
    Fire Destroy Staff
    1. Funnel Health
    2. Siphoning Attacks
    3. Inner Light (Swap from Unstoppable if I die from too much Aggro)
    4. Elemental Blockade
    5. Pulsar
Ult: Veil of Blades (I'm working on the Mage Guild Ultimate at the moment, but I was focused more on leveling for a while, so I have some catching up. I plan to use the Mage Guild Ultimate once I require it)

With my secondary build, I can swap to it if my party doesn't need a healer for whatever reason or if I'm running solo. And, if I'm getting my ass kicked, I can swap to my healing bar and start providing utility.

This is my favorite type of build, and NB is my favorite class. I'm really excited for the patches that will fix some of our bugs

Yes also if you face large groups you will not use simple attack. You just keep the shield up and cast sap essence and swallow soul until VOB is up.It's a siphoning turtle.

The biggest problem with this build is going against casters and ranged. So it is still a good idea to do the stealthy approach get 1 mage /healer/archer then switch to group asskicking. There is also the matter of losing single target burst. The fight's take longer but usually they are much safer.
