    Try this:
If you have lag problems in ESO since a specific windows 11 update (24h2) (especially during loading screens and occasionaly in game), find you processor specs, it's number of cores and number of threads, open your ESO UserSettings.txt file and find these 3 settings:

    SET MaxCoresToUse.4
-> here enter the number of cores for your processor multiplied by 3/4 (n*3/4) (round to the higher integer if the result is not an integer)
    SET RequestedNumJobThreads
-> here enter the number of threads for your processor multiplied by 2/3 (n*2/3) (round to the higher integer if the result is not an integer)
    SET RequestedNumWorkerThreads
-> here enter the number of threads for your processor multiplied by 2/3 (n*2/3) (round to the higher integer if the result is not an integer)

It solved the lag problems for me, don't modify if you have no lag.

    What cpu was this?

It's maths to do with YOUR CPU specs.

    I understand it's situational.

What I'm curious about is which CPU's need this adjustment. Is it AMD or Intel? P vs E core, HT?

I've got an old i9-8th gen on windows 10 not having any problems. Would I have issues with win11h24?
I haven't upgraded yet because 1) have to move to GPT partition and 2) not a win11 fan..

Any CPU can potentially benefit from this. You can even try this with Win 10 and see if you see any "performance" gains.
When Update 46 dropped, I couldn't watch a Twitch stream or YT video without having the stream or video pause or have audio issues. With this adjustment, I have zero issues. My gaming performance, and PC performance is back to what it was before Update 46.

So people with connectivity issues are being directed to this thread.

Wouldn't have guessed as my issue isn;t lag spikes - the game works fine when I am not being disconnected every ten minutes with 201, 303, and 101 errors.

125 pages is a bit much to take in. Is there a tl;dr or summary page for people who get disconnected 6 times in an hour?

    Ty in advance

Lag is horrible. Skills don't fire when pressed. Completely delayed damage after animations on mobs and players. I'm sitting at 240ms. We stopped complaining so it returned to junk?

Tried melee in pvp. Can't hit anything. With wild hunt still same.

Tried beam in pvp with tab and 100 aim. Tried without. Still can't hit anything constantly even at point blank.

Next I'll try tab and 'instant' with proc.

I'm getting super bad performance. Often over 250ms lag and rarely over 45 fps. If there is a fight of any size there is often 400+ ms lag and fps drops to less than 10 frequently and is normally 10-25 fps. What's going on?

(I've done all the troubleshooting offered on ZOS' website and changed some setting with my graphics card, nothing has worked. I have a Geforce 3080Ti)

I've been trying to troubleshoot why I have such low FPS with ESO lately. It's not on my end. With Unigine benchmark testing for my video card I got a score that was more than 50% higher than was is recommended for gaming applications. Average FPS was 350+ and the worst the test could produce was 35 FPS. Yet in game I'm dropping to below 20 FPS and sometimes below 10FPS.

Something is very wrong with server side with ESO. FPS is not supposed to be tanked by the servers. FPS is supposed to be a client side issue.

Saturday evening at prime time in Cyro it was a disaster, DC, rollback, you couldn't change the bar and the wonderful lag of 1-3 sec. I don't know where all this is going to lead. Perhaps we should now analyse the data to see what is affecting the server. by the way i turned my settings to minimum but it did not work.

TL;DR - it could be a bunch of issues but this to me says an ISP/network issue on your end (even if you're not noticing it in other games). I'd try running this add-on that can help troubleshoot where an issue might be happening. This will always be the first step IMO someone needs to do when they come here having "connection issues" with ESO (unless the forums are being spammed with network issues then you know it's a ZoS server issue)

IF you are on windows 11 I'd put all my money on you having a cpu allocation issue. I also had this issue and my fps dropped from around 100 to 24. (FFIW anything above 60 in this game isn't doing you much of anything so you're better to just lock it around 60 so you don't have dramatic spikes/dips).

Step 1: You need to allocate your cpu in the settings file... the way ESO/Windows11 are handing allocation isn't working correctly - especially if you have ANY background tasks open (discord, spotify, chrome, etc).

    Try this:
If you have lag problems in ESO since a specific windows 11 update (24h2) (especially during loading screens and occasionaly in game), find you processor specs, it's number of cores and number of threads, open your ESO UserSettings.txt file and find these 3 settings:

Step2: This is a long one but this was the final change I had to make before my fps issues and lockups went away. (You're still going to have lower fps in Cyro fwiw but this made it so I didn't go from 100 to 4 and then everything lockup

Probably more has to do with issues of multithreading or memory leak issues. Yeah nothing to do with the server.

It doesnt help you or the server that zos has pushed so many tacked on effects onto simple things. No surprise with the 10x more animations happening these days.

To your point, I think alot of the recent issues aren't from a ESO update but a windows 11 update. Which is why the previous post I made, allocating cpu and frame rates, fixes some stuff.

It's affecting those of us running on Windows 10 as well. I came back for Vengeance and I noted it started exactly after the patch that removed it. Some people said they were having issues as soon as the patch for Vengeance but I don't recall any such issues during that event myself. Could be I was just so excited to see a couple hundred players at one time in PvP I wasn't focused on it.
