A question for fish lovers...

Many players know that fishing is a boring activity that sometimes makes you sleepy. Personally, I stand for about an hour and then go do other things. But here's what I noticed... The number of "eggs" has decreased, and it feels like the chance has been reduced?

eggs=perfect roe?
if so, i havent see any change from usual 250-280 skinned fish or 3-4 roe every 1100 fish aprx

Providing that you have access to the addon - not sure if Votan has ported it to console - 'Fisherman' and a foot pedal takes care of that for me.

I have it mapped to 'E', when I hear the sound I tap the pedal, give it a second and tap it again to recast.

If I 'recast' and I don't hear anything for a while means the spot is empty and is time to go find another one.

In the meanwhile I read a book, watch a film on the other screen or w/e; that takes care of tedium setting in.

Regarding perfect roe, I haven't noticed a decrease; still works out about 0.5% chance for me.

The chance is 1% per fish, both manually and in a cooking station. Got a notmal amount of perfect roes from the fish I got by doing the Solstice angler achievement.

I have not seen any chance is obtaining perfect roe. My general average is 1 per 100 fish. somedays better, some days worse. Longest losing streak was 400 fish with no roe. \

It's just RNG

This has been my same experience. Most of the time, but not every single time (indicating that it's at the whim of RNGesus and not a guaranteed ratio), it's right around 1 Perfect Roe per 100 fish.

I'm more interested in how the odds work for completing a zone angling achievement. Got a few where I'm missing just that one fish...

I'm quite pleased with it.

I have to use pedals because my hands can't take a lot of abuse these days so I offload some of the tasks on my feet.

I went for something reliable but quite expensive however they have served me well for years. Said that if you only want it for things like these you can get functional (single) ones for as little as £15.

Currently I am limited to using four pedals efficiently which is somewhat limiting with the 'finger twister' that is combat in ESO, this is going to open up so much more utility.

AFAIK completing the achievements have zero effect on the chance of getting perfect roe.

I get it at the same rate on the account that has every fishing achievement complete as in the one that only has the ones needed to get DLC zone rewards (Telvanni Peninsula/Apocrypha and West Weald).

I filleted 245 fish and got 3 perfect roe last time I did some.

Once I did 500+ and got zero, rng is a fickle master! 😕

I do some wicked air guitar and drumming while fishing. Sometimes on a really good solo I miss a fish.

pretty sure it does not change, but they did curated drops for one of the events this year. i think it was jubilee?

Was it the pan-Tamriel event, or was it the Jubilee that was named that this year?
Irregardless I missed the pan Tamriel with it's wonderful curated antiquities and fishing trophies - I just did not have the time at that time, I really hope the event returns, and the same goes for the thieving one, that was a fantastic mini-event.

you may be right. i couldn't think of what it was, so i looked up events on uesp and tried to guess. but pan-tam sounds right

All you can do is use all the different ways of buffing your chances, Artaeum Pickled Fish Bow food, Angler's Instinct green CP and Sharp-as-Night companion should all stack and increase trophy fish drop rates......

Ofc you may just end up with large numbers of trophy fish but not the one you want!! 😕
