In Memoriam: @ObserverTim, PC-NA

@ObserverTim, GM of Rusty Old Dragons on PC-NA, died suddenly yesterday.

He was in his 60s and of generally poor health, yet his death was totally unexpected. He was getting ready to come to our weekly Guild Trader flip meeting, and "had a fall" in the kitchen shortly before 19:50 UTC. At first he was conscious but couldn't stand up, then he became unconscious and unresponsive. The paramedics were with him for a long time before transporting him to hospital. His family called his housemates to inform them that he died at about 22:20 UTC.

All of his friends are devastated. Tim was an extremely important part of the community for everyone who knew him. He was the sort of player who made his Social guilds social - talkative, kind, knowledgeable and curious. He would talk to strangers in the game and invite them to join a Guild event. He would chat to his guildies and help them out with personal as well as game problems. He was a great source of wisdom and an excellent sounding board for ideas. As one of the most sensible people I've ever met on ESO, I personally found him to be a fantastic sanity check for Guild drama and other such issues.

Oh - and he was also one of the funniest people I've ever known personally. When I thanked him for his extraordinary insight into a situation, he would laugh and remind me of his official diagnosis of "brain damage", stemming from his earlier massive heart attack. Since he had already "died" once, he would tell us that he was living in the afterlife.

As well as running Rusty Old Dragons, he was also an Officer in Scheming Skeever Imports as well as a dear friend of Trusty Skeever Emporium. He was also a friend of Kitty Rainbow Dash and Krafty Retro Designs, as well as the Maxwell House guilds: Gourmets, Gamers, Guards, and Gummibears. He was loved and respected by all the GMs of the Elder Scrolls Alliance, a small Alliance of PC-NA trading guilds.

He will be sorely missed.

P.S. Yes, there will almost certainly be an in-game memorial procession/wake/celebration of life, but as a person with so many friends involved in so many guilds, it will take a while for us to organise something.

I see this on the trade guild I am in but not only for any staff but regular users as well, with a list and a role indicating they are deceased. Sucks to see another dedicated player pass.

He was an awesome human being. The fact he chose to play ESO and to be a Guild Officer and Guildmaster is to our game community's benefit.

I have a wonderful quote from @n808, one of Rusty Old Dragons' Officers, who doesn't have an account here:

Even having led the guild through some of its most tense times, Tim always found a peaceful option to resolve conflicts that arose even when it didn't seem like there was one. I often turned to Tim as someone to look up to and ask for advice whether it be in game or just life advice in general, he was very wise and very kind. There will forever be a huge gap to fill with Tim's passing in our community and the overall ESO Community even if they don't realize it.

I wasn't fortunate enough to know Tim personally, but would like to point out that in addition to being a GM, he was also an addon author, so will be missed for his generous contributions to our ESO community for that as well. I've just recently started using his Snapshot addon for guild management (raffles and auctions for a trade guild), and it's made our lives so much easier!

It's always hard to lose a valued member of our community. Condolences to his friends and family. Rest in peace, Tim, you are missed.

A Tribute to Our Guildmaster, Observer Tim
I was so saddened to hear about the passing of our guildmaster, Observer Tim. My deepest condolences go out to his family and to everyone in the guild who knew him well.

I personally met Tim one morning while I was soloing world bosses. Suddenly, a huge group appeared—it was our guild running boss clears. I was struck by how welcoming and inclusive Tim was. He invited me to join the group and the guild, and I've been a part of this community ever since.

Due to ongoing medical issues, I haven't been as active in the guild or in-game content recently. However, I always tried to keep in touch with Tim and others through the in-game mail system. His kindness and leadership were always evident, even in those small interactions.

Tim's presence will be profoundly missed within our ESO community. He created a welcoming and vibrant space for us all, and his spirit will undoubtedly continue to influence Rusty Old Dragons and KRDS.

**@ObserverTim's Memorial and Celebration of Life will be on Friday 11th July at 8.30pm EDT.**

Tim's partner and best friends have requested that no one wears black except as part of Tim's colours (black, white, red). Wear something that feels celebratory to you. Guild Tabards welcome to show how many communities Tim's life touched.

We will be meeting at Haj Uxith wayshrine in Coldharbour. To ensure that everyone gets into the same shard of Coldharbour, you will need to port to one of the Crowns for the event. I am happy to accept friend requests so GMs can port to me, and then your friends and guildies can port to you.

I've lost several friends over the years in MMOs, some of them sadly quite young. It's always heartbreaking, especially when it's someone as nice as your Tim. My condolences from across the pond.
