What's happening during loading screens? This is when the game is the laggiest and crashes

The worst lag occurs when it's the first time loading into the game, switching characters, and zoning to new zones. What's the game doing during that time? My entire PC will freeze up until the loading screen clears or I hard reset my PC, and today I just had my first BSOD from ESO.

Only ESO is doing this to my PC. This is a recent issue as of U46.

Edit: Problem solved thanks to @Masteroshi430 . The horrible game stutter and system freezing has stopped.

ESO causing blue screens? Dang. That once in a blue moon moment where it's good to be a Console Plebian.

Or you have a problem with Windows. Or you have a problem with SSD HDD. The Elder Scrolls can take a long time to load due to addons. You may also have a very weak computer, and it's time to upgrade.

What size is your RAM? Other specs?

I've had ESO blackscreen, crash to desktop, or completely freeze my XBSX, so it's not just a PC problem.

@Servadei - I believe during loading screens the game is trying to connect and load you into a new instance, but that can be a problem if the network connection is laggy or the servers are getting hammered for some reason. I've had intermittent issues this week even before update 46 hit console. If this is a new thing happening to you, try doing a full proper shutdown and cold start to ensure your OS cleans up any stray stuff and see if that helps.

I wonder what else it's doing during loading. I've had bad lag before U46, but it has never frozen and crashed my whole PC. The lag was just isolated to the ESO client running, now my whole PC lags.
