Also another late question, because I could not see an answer to this.

The themes are very vague and not clear. Say, in "Festival Day" or "Secret Garden" do the houses need to have anything to do with festivals or gardens, because the rules state "Must include elements representing one of the following Home Tours tags:". Emphasis on the one. So, technically, for example, the Secret Garden don't actually need to even be a garden because the tags are Creatures, Gardens, Hidden Secrets, meaning a house could fit either creatures or hidden secrets (no garden at all) and count?

Yes, ReShade and similar in-game addons are allowed. I realize it's a pain to read through the legal text, but this is the excerpt that covers that:

During the Submission Period, eligible entrants are encouraged to submit four screenshots representing their unique housing creations (the “Images”) showcasing their creativity and individual definition for cool (the “Theme”). At least four (4) images, and no more than (6) images, must be generated. Screenshots may be in JPG or PNG format and show the unique design created. All screenshots should be at the highest possible resolution with 1920 x 1080 as the minimum. The use of in-game effects and lighting addons are allowed, but altering screenshots outside of the game with PhotoShop or other image editing is not permitted for this contest.

Regarding the theme, we are asking entrants to try their best to stick to them, but also wanted to leave room for artistic interpretation and creative freedom. For the festival theme for example, we should be able to tell that your scene depicts some sort of festival. Whether that's a medieval fair or a holiday festival or Sheogorath's cheese festival, that's up to you.

The one required element just means you should have something in your design that matches one of the three housing tours tags that corresponds with that theme.

Hey @ZOS_JessicaFolsom or @ZOS_Kevin just following up on my question I posted a little ways up in this thread. Will these entries be posted anywhere for all of us to see? I'd love to see everyone's builds, and I'm sure others would too!!

Edit - after submitting my build, I saw where it was encouraged for us to post our builds on social media with the #ESOWelcomeHomeContest tag. I did this with mine, though I do want to suggest a sort of gallery for future contests (if any) so we can all at least go support the rest of the community and see everyone's art!

That was read through several times, and it's not actually clear if it allows reshade, because that more sounds like EHT FX effects. Not that pleased all of these are allowed, especially in a contest that is judged by screenshots only.

The furnishings cap in the inn rooms is rather oppressive... there is only so much you can do with 15 ( or even 30 decorations ) - however, with a little work, it's possible to get some decent results - I don't know if this will be considered within the rules of the contest, but if you take different angles at (roleplay wise) different time windows, i.e. remove food/drinks or books and movable light sources when they are no longer in use - this opens up interesting possibilities:

I just wish they would make all events etc. end at the end of the day rather than 12 ET, or 10 ET like some do. It's too easy for players to miss some of these the way it is.

It's especially atrocious for their playerbase that is not from the US, which are many. Not only are the times often in the afternoon for Europe, but they are still bad at telling times in UTC, like it's often not even mentioned along with the US ones. Which is kinda a default thing for international mmos.

Ever since this support page appeared stating that modifications “such as…Daybreak” are considered a violation of the CoC, it has not been clear to me where the line is drawn in terms of which graphics mods/add-ons are allowed and which are not:

Could you help us understand how to tell what is and what is not allowed per the CoC? There are related questions still unanswered in the forums, such as client-implemented upgrades to DLSS. I would venture to guess that many players wanting to use graphics modifications do not want to violate the CoC, but the phrasing on the support page is very vague and led some players to believe that ReShade was most likely a violation too. What guideline should we be following to determine what in-game lighting and effect alterations are allowed, like ReShade “and similar add-ons,” and what crosses the line into the “modification of game files, such as…Daybreak,” which is a violation?

Hi, I am worried a bit after reading some of the post here about the contest. I am participating and what I understood from the anouncement of , was that we have to submit screenshots of the built for preselection. Then the judges would go around those selected and determine winners.

My concern is that I submited only parts of my built, thinking to leave a "Powow" effects if I am selected. I'm on the xbox and just read that if judges will rely on the screenshots. Knowing that they're playing on PC..I presume the xbox and playstation contestants, if selected, wont benefit a visit from the judges and these last will judge from the screenshots.

Therefore, I would like to know if there's a way to change or add some screenshots? I spent a full month on the project and preprare myself for many years and I am really afraid that if selected and then judge by the submited screenshots instead of a real visit, it will be over, since I posted image that I are meant to get selected and reserved a surprise on the site itself. It,s like a kinder surprise lol, the outside looks yummy enough and the value is inside.

It would be interesting to add the platform on wich the winners made theyr house, and where is the showcase thingy? I posted mine on facebook, the Morabela's Lifa Tree on xbox and we were only 3 to have done so. Also would be nice to be able to tour the contestants houses. I havent found any 'showcase' thing like mentioned in the contest description. So here is my Morabela's Lifa Tree, made in the moon sugar house:
