zos stole the necro class from me

id like to provide some extra details and evidence for my ticket so maybe i can help zos verify my purchase and i explain my situation a little better since the in-game ticket system doesnt like yappers
ticket # is 250615-001327

i SHOULD have access to the necromancer class since i bought it back in 2021 as part of the elsweyr collectors edition on the crown store. yes i understand that the necromancer class is no longer part of the dlc but it was back then. i no longer have access to the necromancer class. heres a screencap of how i discovered that i no longer have access to the necromancer class. its not that i lost all of the dlc classes, just the necromancer

heres the reason why i know for a FACT that i unlocked the necromancer class when i purchased the elsweyr dlc pack all those years ago. say hello to my one and only necromancer toon brimvar! ive had him for a few years even tho i dont play on him that much. i took that screencap today just for this post so its not like im unable to play with my necro toon, i just cant multiclass into necro and likely im not able to create a new necro toon but my rosters too full to test that out

and heres my evidence as to when i bought the elsweyr dlc so i can help zos pinpoint the time i bought it and they can verify my purchase. i know steam doesnt show in-game purchases but i had bought these crowns with the intention of buying a ton of dlcs from the crownstore which included the elsweyr dlc. the date is the 15th of may, 2021

i suspect that my ownership status of the necromancer class (and possibly a bunch of other dlcs) happened when i accidentally bought the wrong version of the necrom dlc. i like to buy the collectors editions of dlcs for the extra goodies and when necrom finally went on sale i saw a collection edition and blindly bought it bc i was hyped up only to be disappointed when i didnt get my extra goodies and discovered i had bought the version that gives you all the other big dlcs, dlcs that i already bought through the crown store, and so i asked steam for a refund that they so kindly provided. i then bought the deluxe version of necrom. ever since then ive been kinda worried about my ownership status of the other dlcs and i guess that not being able to multiclass into necro confirms that the refund of the collection edition essentially wiped out my ownership of the other dlcs and if i were to unsub id lose access to them. steam doesnt show the refund but it does show when i bought the deluxe edition so hopefully that narrows the time down for zos. the date is the 3rd of august 2023

zos id greatly appreciate it if you would restore my ownership of the necromancer class without forcing me to buy it a 2nd time over for nearly $25 worth of crowns and i hope my screencaps help you verify my purchases

    You are level 50 in all of the Necromancer skill lines (with Brimvar), right?

    correct, ive got all the achievements for reaching 50 in all necro skill lines with brimvar. i can see them in my collections too, just not the necromancer class itself

    Thread title is a tad aggressive. It sounds like a bug not registering that necro is unlocked. Is it showing as unlocked in the Collectibles?

    That's the issue. Can you create a NEW necro?

    My Elsweyr and the necro class was missing for me too.

    I've just bought it with gold (for crown-gift) again. Not in mood to discuss with ZOS.

    So you are not alone with that bug...

    if i could delete a toon temporarily and get them back afterwards then id certainly love to try making a new necro toon since its only for the purpose of testing. i dont think i wanna send any of my toons to the shadow realm tho

    Dang. It just sounds like the account hasn't registered that Necro is unlocked. This is then cascading down to the sub-class lines, but isn't affecting your existing Necro as ... well ... it already exists.

    Likely happened when they refunded and unregistered the DLCs you bought. I noticed on the sale for SotWC that the deluxe version, that included all past content had the 3 DLC classes as seperate items.

    Sounds like a small snafu, and hopefully ZOS respond to your ticket soon.

    A guildie complained today that after the patch their access to Solstice was blocked as "not purchased". Could those be related? The game not recognising correctly owned DLCs?

    Good news is that it got resolved after re-starting the game.

    since i havent heard anything at all about my ticket i decided to hop on their site to check its status and... they closed it... the status is literally just "thank you for your feedback" with a note at the bottom saying the ticket cant be reopened or updated...

    i have now sent in a 2nd ticket through their website so hopefully that one doesnt get closed too! i checked the status immediately after sending it in and it says waiting for an agent so at least they didnt immediately toss my second ticket into the trash bin. you know youve got fantastic customer service when customers have to send in multiple tickets just to be heard

    You could have sent a "wrong" ticket type. The in-game ticketing system is more than a little thru the ... Well...

    So when you send it as "Feedback/Bug", it automatically closes, and there's no way to respond and/or track it.

    To actually open a "working" ticket, you need to choose one of the other categories, which are also thru the ... e.g., if you choose "Item assistance" then "I have a problem with a Crown Store item" or "I lost my item", both of them ask you to right-click on the item you DON'T HAVE.

    So in your case, just pick "Ask for help" then "Skills/Abilities/Achievements", write in the info you want and submit.

    You will receive an autoreply that the ticket was created, but NOTHING WILL BE DONE on it unless you respond within 72 hours. So reply to that email, and THEN someone will get to it.

    Perfect support system.

      As soon as Elsweyr hit the crown store in 2020, Necromancer was already separated from it. There was no way to purchase both Elsweyr and Necro in the same crown store transaction, not in 2021 or at any other time.

      The Elsweyr Collector’s Pack in the crown store never included Necro either, as it wasn’t a CE item or a pre-order bonus: https://help.bethesda.net/#en/answer/51684

      Necro was only included with Elsweyr the chapter (which was/is only available for real money); it was not included in Elsweyr the DLC (available for crowns/with ESO+).

      Having a Necro character is not actually proof of ever having owned Necro because of a major bug that happened back in 2019: There was a brief period of time where a game-wide glitch enabled players to make necros despite not owning Elsweyr. No characters were removed as part of that bug. So there are people out there who never properly owned the Necromancer class but who have a Necro character.

      ZOS will have to look at your crown store purchase history and tell you if you bought both the Elsweyr DLC and the Necro upgrade or only the DLC.

      @ZOS_Kevin my 2nd ticket number is 250618-003622. I got some emails from the dev team yesterday morning and in the last one I was informed that my ticket was being escalated to a specialized team to resolve my issue and that they would be in contact with me shortly. I havent heard anything since but it has been only a single day

      thank you for explaining this to me actually! ill keep it in mind for when i submit tickets in the future so im not shouting into the void when i need help again lol

      If you're on PC you could try to see if you can create a new necro on the PTS... But if you don't already have the PTS installed it's probably not worth doing just for this, because I'd be willing to bet that if the class isn't showing up in your collections you're not going to be able to create a new one.
