Nchuthnkarst Group Event bugged due to Power Creep

The Group Boss in Nchuthnkarst Public Dungeon, Clockwork Criterion, has so little health that a group of 4 can kill it BEFORE it goes into its invulnerable phase and spawns adds. This prevents you from getting the Achievement and Skill Point for the Group Event.

I can only presume that you need to add a bit more health to it OR FORCE the invulnerable phase somehow. We got the Achievement & Skill Point on a second attempt where we did light attacks only until the adds spawned.

This is also true of the Group Boss in Silent Halls, Warlord Iaza. In order to get the Achievement and Skill Point, we had to do light attacks only to ensure that each of the add phases at 75%, 50% and 25% happened.

It's true for a lot of places. A good example is ICP. Too much dps can bug the portal mechs, meaning a death becomes likely making the No Death achievement harder to get.

ZOS need to alter the scaling, as it will be capped at a much lower CP level, but that is true for all older content. The Craglorn trials for example are capped at 160 CP, I'd love ZOS to redo the scaling to be 1800 CP and change them from super easy farms, back to actual challenges - they have some pretty nasty mechs if they are alive long enough.

I've noticed the same thing when running guild events. The boss in Silent Halls also bugs out sometimes and refuses to respawn properly if you skip the invulnerability phases.

Well, it's not JUST these type of events that get bugged with killing too quickly. Even some quests in which you have to 'incapacitate' or 'weaken' an enemy (not kill them) you basically have to remove all weapons and just hit them with your fists so that you don't accidentally kill them even with light attacks. I just ran into this problem the other day with the quest in Auridon "An Act of Kindness". I kept killing the ghosts even with light attacks, so I had to remove my weapons and just punch them until they were weakened.

Thankfully you've already found the solution. Hold your damage. This is a factor across all veteran content that has break points, mechanics based on percentages, or mechs that you want to avoid/skip. Just manage your damage output. This isn't a dev problem.

It technically is. They scaled OC to be at a higher CP level than HRC - that's a choice the Devs have made.

It's a problem when a "group" boss has only a little over 300,000 HP and can be killed by ONE player's Arcanist beam!

We're UESP, and we have the knowledge and understanding of the game to check the Wiki, realise that some groups of enemies did not spawn, and try again with light attacks only. The fact that we were able to find a workaround by no means implies that all players would be able to.

Just to add. This can be nightmarish on Delve bosses too. On some you have maybe 2 seconds (if you are lucky) to register enough damage to get loot - happens a lot when new content comes out with new leads from delve bosses.

This kind of thing has been a problem in vet crypt of hearts hard mode for much longer than u46 (for anyone blaming current meta). To do hm you have to keep sone ghosts alive so tank usually taunts them and runs away. But sometimes taunt alone is enough to kill them.

A good number of base game stuff definitely needs some extra health at least. Even the weakest characters are baseline stronger than they were when this stuff was released.
