Hero's Return: How long do you have to be gone to trigger it?

However, all these choices can mean if you've been away from ESO for a while, it can be hard to get back into the (axe) swing of things when you come back.

What is 'a while?' How long do you have to be gone from ESO to trigger the Hero's Return?

I don't know exactly, but if it's the same as on the PTS then I think it's less than a year. When I first logged into the PTS it was a copy of my NA account, which I don't play often but I'm certain I've logged into it within the last year. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly, it was probably last time there was a community event.

PTS version was instant, i.e. everyone was testing it.

I logged back into an account that I last logged into during the anniversary event in April and it triggered for me.

Bit unrelated, but could this "Wayshrine Navigation Chart" from the Hero's Return please be made into a rare drop. This item could prove very useful to be able to activate an unactivated wayshrine of our choice. For the Wayshrine Navigation Chart rare drop item, only being able to activate one wayshrine with it is enough.
