From a functional point of view Arcanists are still the best base class because of the crux generation on the banner. If you take any build that uses Herald of the Tome, it's stronger if you do it on an arcanist compared to any other class.
Assassination from the nightblade is the strongest single skill line. it has really strong skills and passives.
After that it's really up to the individual to look at what is important to them from a build perspective. A lot of people prefer form over function, I guess theme of effectiveness.
I leveled them all to 50 and leveled at least 1 morph of each individual skill on the first day before the double XP mini event ended by using a ton of master writs that had been building up for a while.Nemesis7884 wrote: »Lol I havent even leveled 1 sub class skill line to 50 yet....currently 45 and you guys have all already?

I tend to do dolmens in Auridon up to 33-36 on an archanist with only the beam+ the new class skills, then switch to main and do writs to 50. And you can do any writs really, if you know an house with all the crafting stations to finish it up 20-25 something writs does it with an 150% scroll who I have more than 50 of. done with sorcerer, DK, and last for NB.Major_Mangle wrote: »If you've enough gold (to buy writs) or saved up a lot of alchemy/enchanting writs those are gonna be the fastest way to level up the skillines.
This is true as long as your character is capable of doing other types of writs. The reason most people go for alchemy/enchanting writs when they want to gain tons of XP is because those writs only require that the relevant crafting skill lines are leveled and you've spent a few skill points. For equipment master writs your character needs to know a lot of motifs and traits, and for provisioning your character needs to know a lot of recipes. And you can do any writs really, if you know an house with all the crafting stations
