Something Needs To Give With Armory Slots

With subclassing in the game, it opens up a huge array of build possibilities that we will want to try out. With that in mind, it's going to increase the number of armory slots we need in order to create new builds with mixed and matched class abilities and content purposes.

I really think the armory slots should be account wide and/or ESO plus members should be given a free armory slot to claim from the crown store once per month. If those things aren't an option, then at the very least reduce the cost of purchasing armory slots from the crown store.

Subclassing is such an exciting new feature that opens up a lot of new technical and RP possibilities, but my excitement is killed a bit by how restrictive and expensive the armory system is when you want more than 2 builds.

Lastly, I think having multiple builds should not penalize our inventory management so much. Perhaps ESO plus members can be given an armory bag where they can store all gear pieces that are currently assigned to an armory build.

I take it we weren't given a free 3rd one with the update. That would be in line with the free char slot we got with the new classes.

After the minor yet still annoying fumble of having to port back to my house and dig through all of my chests for my scattered bits of war machine because I forgot I was support that day....

I think all storage should be shared. Convert the house chests into the equivalent of those inventory pets but for the bank. And add more of them that can be bought with writ vouchers.

I don't understand why it isn't account wide. It's the only account upgrade that is bound to a single character, as if the armory is like mount stats unique to one character. The slots should definitely be available account wide.

I think it’s safe to assume that the reason it isn’t account wide is because they can make more money off of each player who invests into multiple characters, which is a *** monetezation practice if you ask me.

    More chests would be nice

While I think it would be convenient for most cases, it would be rather annoying for my transmute storage methodology. Those chests work great to dump a bunch of transmuted set pieces for storage without worrying about having to lock a ton of set pieces or have them appear in a decon window.

I won‘t play around with Subclassing on my main until getting a free third arsenal slot for convenience to at least switch between „subclassing (in progress)“ and my finished (in my case pure class) build.
I already use my two slots for vampire/non vampire and won‘t buy a single slot for real money (for only one char, that‘s crazy).

I had 10/10 slots used before u46 already.
Even if I wanted to subclass, I can't because of the limited spots....

It’s such an awful barrier to enjoying an amazing update.

The only limit to the possibilities of subclassing is how much money you’re willing to pay ZOS for armory slots. 🙄

As I always say to these threads, "Heaven forbid a 'for profit' company finds ways to make a profit." Gamers love to complain about not wanting to spend money, but at the same time want everything for free. ZOS needs to make a profit to not only pay the overhead, but also make a profit to justify continued development of the game.

It is absolutely absurd that armory slots are per character. [snip]

They don't want to make profit, if they cap the slots to 10.
What's even the point of a cap?

I don’t have a problem with them trying to make a profit, but there are friendly and unfriendly ways of doing that:

Friendly: game doesn’t require subscription, but you get plenty of DLC access and benefits for a nicely priced subscription. Cool pets and mounts are available in the crown store.

Unfriendly: Milking people for more cash [snip] It’s in a totally different league than just them selling crates and mounts for fun.

All Database guys are looking at this like O_O

While it seems very simple to the players of "I choose these abilities with this gear and just swap it out".

On the back end is MUCH more going on than that. All those "builds" have to be written to a database somewhere to be called on when we decide to swap builds.

I'm a database person, and I think the original comment was very reasonable. These tokens represent rows, probably across several related tables. No reason to limit a particular account or character to a specific number of slots for database reasons. Not anymore than it would be reasonable to limit the number of people who can buy the game based on concerns about the database. That would be a bit extreme. If people will pay for it, sell it to them.

On the other hand, anyone buying these slots for 1500 a pop kind of blows my mind. I don't care how much money you have... It's the principle of it.

I thought I got ahead of this by buying a bunch of armory slots when they were on sale.

I was intentionally avoiding processing PTS details because of the vast amount of fluid details, so I ignorantly thought subclassing meant I wouldn't have to play my actual Arcanist so much and could instead play my main character in a subclass configuration. So my Arcanist was the only active character I didn't add an armory slot to..

But nope! It's still optimal to play Arc because of class mastery scripts for pve dps.

I honestly believe it would be in their best interests to at least gift every character an extra slot so players can better enjoy experimenting with subclassing. It is a real pain to switch between subclass configurations and have to re-allocate skill points.

Alternatively, let us buy armory slots with seals of endeavor.

I didnt buy any on sale for for similar reasons. I didn't know how many I would need for each of my mains. What're the odds of them having another sale that isnt so crapily timed, for us consumers at least...

    @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin

Any hope that ZOS can add more than ten armories to a single character?!? With Subclassing, there are many options and it would be nice if at least five more were available, perhaps even ten more.

    Thanks for listening. :)

Well, someone thinks it's better to sell the slots 1500 crowns per char.
And this why I never purchased, and I never will, a single slot.

It's way more profitable this way for the seller.

I used the ESO+ crowns to buy an additional armory slot for 19 characters while they were discounted. The 20th was already fully upgraded to 10.

I mean, I don't need more houses, I don't care about the crown crates or cosmetics, and the only useful upgrade I have left to purchase with crowns is a decon assistant, which I'll probably pick up next time they have one discounted. Yes, I'm cheap.

    It's all $$

Nothing that you purchase in the crown store, IMO, should be character bound. It all should be account wide. Skyshards, mount lessons, skill line skips, armory & outfit slots, all of it. You've completed it on one character to unlock it, so now you should be able to unlock it with $ for the rest of your account. Doing it per character has always felt really bad - especially with how much they charge.

We need more than 10 armory slots period. ESO plus should double the armory slots to 20 or something
