So the way it works is there is a subclassing limit of 3 skill lines a character can unlock, and once these are chosen that can't be changed. However... A skill line that has gotten to level 50 either via the subclassed version, or leveling via it's native class, becomes a mastered skill line, which means that it is available to all characters and "unlocks" so that it no longer counts against that limit of 3. Additionally, skill line levels obtained by the subclass versions of skill lines are account-wide, while the native version of the skill line is character specific. So once you get a skill line to 50 via subclassing, all characters that have that line non-natively have it maxed out right away.
The benefit of having an alt of every class leveled is that it means you can freely swap out their skill lines whenever you want, while someone who as an example only has one character, would be stuck with 1-3 skill lines that they can not change until they finish leveling them.

So once you choose say to use 1 sorc 1 nb 1 warden sub class you can't change them in the future? If so I think that's very harsh because this system is going to lead to lots of nerfs for sure and if you can't change you are stuck nerfed forever because of a flawed system.

Might be good for people who have a million alts already.. but for someone like me who has only 2 dedicated characters , have zero plans on leveling useless characters just to unlock the skills. blah no thanks.
