Want to make a Druid build.

So I have this high elf warden. He has a cool druid outfit, a nice home and a nice druid mount.

I have a healing build for him, but I need a DPS build.

What would be the optimal sub-class, abilties, armor sets given the requirments below keeping this druid themed?

• Warden Base Class
• High Elf
• Magicka
• Oakesoul (1 bar is the only way I can play)
• Must have a heal
• Must be druid themed

I don’t think this is exactly the answer you’re looking for, and someone more technical putting these builds together will probably give a much more concise and detailed build, but I’m just going to share the thoughts I’ve been having.

I have a magicka Warden I’ve always called a Druid since the beginning and just pretended everything fit even though I didn’t like the Morrowind themed animal skills. But I love the bear! I always found that class to be unwieldy and hard to play until Oakensoul came along and then it became one of my favorites. I’m working on another Subclassing build now, but in the back of my mind I’ve been pondering the same questions as you have for the next project.

Just from finally having Druids in the game on High Isle, they seem to be pretty varied, but a few things jump out. Only one of the Druid groups seems to be willing to use fire magic and this seems frowned upon by the others. So I first have to decide if I want to be one of the frowned upon Firesong Druids and I’m just not feeling that. Second, I’ve always loved the Winter skill line on her, but now I’m using it on my Elementalist where it fits better. I could see a Druid using the Stormcalling skill line instead. And then there’s the Magma line, and I’m not ready to give up the base Animal Companion line because I love the bear so much. I think these will be the first three skill lines I try to create my perfect solo Druid with. She uses Isobel as a companion and I need to wait to heal her so I have to keep that in mind if I give up the healing growth line.

Sadly, I’m going to have to change my gear because since frost was my favorite line I was using Winterborn with her along with Allessian, so I’m not that far along yet. But I will be watching this thread for answers from other people!

Edited to add: Due to her affinity with animals, she is the only character I’ve set to use random mounts like she’s magically sending out a call when she needs one. I normally like to specifically choose the mount that goes with the character. When I play her, it’s always fun to see which random mount will pop up.

I think druid's braid is an obvious one.

One way to consider it is think about how they became a druid - were they born in the Systres or travel there? How did they become a druid if they travelled there? Or did they become a hermit elsewhere in Tamriel and are a "druid" in a nature-brother sense? Or perhaps they are more in tune with the Wood Elves of the Dominion after serving with them in Cyrodiil, or whatever.

All of that can open up new sets or styles for consideration.

If they travelled to the Systres or were born there, that's sort of a ''basic" druid. I'd pick a circle - Eldertide, Firesong, or Stonelore - and start there. I am bad at theorycrafting for DPS but I would say:
If Eldertide, I would use the Frost warden skill line predominantly with as much water-themed stuff as I could think of - probably something from Arcanist for the "depths/abyss" and maybe Templar or Sorcerer for the blue. Or maybe nothing at all haha, pure warden can work. In this case, Whorl of the Depths is good.

Firesong is fire themed so I would probably subclass into DK and grab something like Burning Spellweave as an initial set. This is the easiest.

Stonelore can be so much as the "generic" druids but poison DK with animal companion skill line makes sense, coupled with something like Claw of the Forest Wraith or Aerie's Cry both work.

If you wanted to be a former High Elf who abandoned their old life to live among the Druids, Twice-Born Star is a good 'callback' to that, and gives you flexibility with mundus stones to flavor.

I could go on about sets, but it really does depend on your backstory as much as your DPS!

I wouldn't shy away from any specific subclass except possibly necromancer (unless you want him to be the return of the Allwither druid circle or something) or Nightblade. But I would make sure to solve his storyline for how he became a druid before committing, and let that make the subclassing call. If you like I can give some examples!

Could replace Warden's ice tree with DK's Earthen Heart tree. Earth magic'd fit in with plant and animal magic.
