1000 slots in stacks of 500 would take double the database capacity compared to 500 slots in stacks of 1000.FieryPhoenix wrote: »As a housing enthusiast, 500 slots isn't enough. It's not even the size of a notable house (700 with ESO+), and I have 3 of those full with furnishings right now. Stacks of 1000 is a nice thought, but I doubt that I have 1000 of any furnishing item. 1000 slots in stacks of 500 would have been more useful.

Behind the scenes to have 500 slots that stack to 1000 you need the ability to have up to 500 records per account, with each record having a field to indicate the item ID of the specific furnishing being stored in that slot and a field to indicate the number of those specific furnishings stored in that slot (they're probably using smallint as the data type for the number, as tinyint would only allow numbers up to 255 while smallint allows numbers up to 32,767). To have 1000 slots in stacks of up to 500 you'd need to be able to have up to 1000 records per account, with the same 2 fields per record.
We'd have that one way or the other, though. Regardless of whether we put our furnishings in our houses or in a furnishings vault, they still need the database capacity for us to fill our houses with furnishings because otherwise the houses are useless.cyclonus11 wrote: »1000 slots in stacks of 500 would take double the database capacity compared to 500 slots in stacks of 1000.FieryPhoenix wrote: »As a housing enthusiast, 500 slots isn't enough. So instead we have the rest of the items taking up individual slots in our houses complete with placed coordinates, etc.

How many of those furnishings are unique? Is that 700 totally different furnishings, or do you have multiple copies of some furnishings? For instance, a dining room table with 12 chairs around it— is each chair a different type of chair, or is it 12 copies of a specific type of chair? And what about rooms and structures which have been assembled from various structural parts. Are they all completely unique, or are there several copies of a given structural piece?
I’m just having trouble imagining 700 totally unique furnishings in a house.
