I believe in this case, it would be "beam them down, Scotty!". But in all seriousness, beam is boring and ironically makes light attack weaving harder (because of the long cast time, knowing when the beam is about to end is harder than a regular 1 GCD attack) and more punishing to miss (if you miss 1 LA on a templar, you lose a tiny bit of dps. If you miss 1 LA on an arc, you lose ult generation). The players that care about the combat system and enjoy high APM gameplay are also a those who play in difficult content in guild runs. That leads to them being forced into B E A M to stay competitive, wich sucks becasue they don't like afk rotations2 -

✭✭✭✭✭You can complete content, even the most difficult content, without a beam build. Especially with subclassing and tripling up on DPS skill lines. If your raid lead demands beam, you can run with a different guild. Or organize your own runs where beam builds are not welcome.6 -

I knew this was going to happen last year, but I didn't realize how. The beam is such a crutch, I knew there was no way they were going to revert or significantly nerf it, so the only apparent solution would be to give every class a similar cleave ability... But no, instead they gave every class both beams, jebus and non.
This game has the most absurd contrast between incredible depth and complexity which is rendered irrelevant by the gameplay compromises introduced over the years.
The biggest compromises may yet come because ZOS just increased the gap between the floor and the ceiling which will be untenable to many players. The average player will become attached to their particular creations and be frustrated that it doesn't compete against optimal builds. Like wait until that guy shows up at a vet trial with their summoner build....spending a year dead for tax reasons7 -

It went swimmingly.
People saying "beam is boring" are free to not use beam, and people who enjoy it are free to use it.5 -

✭Not even beaming because this is such a mess and the power creep is so high it doesn't even matter if I under perform a little.

✭✭The BIg Green Beam is ruining the Dungeon scene. Literally. I'm so tired of the endless green making harder to see the targets, to see anything really.
And yes it is boring, I tried and don't use it, but that doesn't protect me from those who do.

✭Beam is feeling juicy [snip] this patch, so much fun. Heavy attacks not sure yet, I wish the mythic didn't remove resource Regen. Overall having fun.
