Yeah, I've reached the point where I can't even force myself to complete a match anymore.
The problems go far deeper than the format. And to be clear, I MUCH prefer two teams. Going to two teams was a step in the right direction because the right direction is one that successful PVP games have traversed for decades.
Unfortunately, ESO PVP seems to be designed in a bubble, as if the last 30 years of online pvp gaming hasn't happened. I think this is because ESO PVP is never mission critical. It's never someone's main responsibility. So they can be completely whimsical about it. This isn't bashing, it is my honest opinion.
I could write a book about my bad experiences, but the main thing is that ZOS needs to try harder. PVP needs dedicated devs who iterate every month and can make fast adjustments within a week when necessary. I know it's never going to happen though.
That is very sad. I can't believe I'm hearing the less subtle part of what has happened to me in the long term trying to make sense of the BG Overhaul. I've had consistent group queue breakers who queue in and purposefully crash the lobby so 15 players sit in a doomed instance until the several countdown expires. Never yet have I seen people queue up and say they're protesting PVP and therefore will troll/afk (only the doing part not announcing it). This ain't it. It's too easy to sabotage the current BGs. Its never been this broken.Been in countless matches where people are "protesting" PvP and purposely throwing matches.

I've been on the winning side and the losing side and no matter which side it is a miserable experience standing around when one or two players (some cases a whole team) hold the entire BG hostage by not scoring. I don't have a problem losing. I have a problem when players decide to troll and waste my time, and everyone else's by holding on to the relic and not scoring, holding people at spawn and refusing to pick up the chaos ball, holding people at spawn and refusing to stand on a flag. It's happening nearly every day and it is the worst experience ever. I'm done.
I've got the mount. I'm free. Goodbye BGs.

If you care about winning go to 4v4.

You do realize you CANNOT score when the relic of your own team is not at its original location, right ?

You can also go for the 1000 medal points quest now. They fixed it some months ago and now every quest will award a battle token once per day.
This quest is a bit less frustrating and is not dependent from your team mates.
I'd like to apologize on behalf of Zenimax for the inexistence of balanced battleground matches. Hopefully it will happen someday. Be sure to share your horror stories and ask for the return of the 3-sided format every day, so the growth of the BG community can finally begin.

I play on PC/NA.
In terms of team balance, MMR is only one relevant aspect. The game also needs apply traits to the characters being played and balance those traits. Example traits would be tank, healer, bomber, evasion, brawler, etc.. It would also be ideal if the game could recognize the disruptive builds that have essentially become standard like the charming mechanical acuity Warden.
And then consider how long we've waited for this match -- which makes it a big waste of time if it's bad. So also balance teams mid-match when necessary to ensure the best match quality possible.
However, none of these things matter if players don't have buy-in. Don't want someone to spoil CTF so they can DM? Then don't force them to play CTF!!! I mean, why does this even need to be said? Imagine waiting 10 minutes in queue, a few more minutes waiting for players, only to be confronted with a game mode you absolutely do not want to play. It is crucial they allow us to select the modes we wish to play.

I was in a BG where one of our team said they had 4 NBs on the other team. This was a 8x8 match. I don’t know how he knew that before we started (the other team doesn’t show up on screen like it did for 3 team) but we got massacred even though I had revealing flare. This should not happen.

You can open the Scoreboard manually (I believe the default keybind is F5).
And certain addons show more infos on the scoreboard, such as the class for each player or their damage/Healing of each player without having to select them.

This is on console so no idea. Probably well-hidden button press.

The same combination that gets you into a housing editor. It’s displayed on the screen when you load into a BG. Then you scroll through players and press x which will give you options to look at more details for each player, or look at the GT, Xbox profile.
It’s also since there is less than like 100 people on any server actually playing bgs, those 50 sweats of the entire player base that plays them all know each other. So it’s not that they are looking, they just know all the toons that each player has and their playstyles.
