Provisioning Master Writs no longer craftable in advance?

I just did a Provisioning Master Writ that required me to make 8 Longfin Pasty with Melon Sauce. I already had 63 in my inventory created by the same character that did the master writ (and even more in the bank), but it still asked me to make one. Was this just a glitch? Or are (provisioning) master writs no longer craftable in advance? (The latter would be extremely annoying)

Must have been a glitch. I just tested it out with another Provisioning Master Writ for 8 Lusty Argonian Maids and I could turn in the master writ with Rolis Hlaalu immediately after accepting the quest.

I've noticed that the behaviour for provisioning writs is a little inconsistent. For example, sometimes when I have to make 16 of something, it completes on the first batch of 4; other times, it doesn't. I wonder if creating something as part of a writ sets some sort of flag on the item which means that any excess over requirements can "carry over" to the next writ for the same item?

Edit: either that, or it's just glitchy like you said.

You sure you're not confusing it with Alchemy master writs? Those require 16, but if it's a poison one craft will produce 16 whereas if it's potions then it will produce 4 per craft.

No, it was definitely provisioning. But as I said, when I tried another provisioning master writ, it worked as expected when having it in my inventory beforehand. So much have been a glitch. But thank your for making the suggestion.

Is it possible that this is a stack that included ones made by another character?

They will stack and one of the names will be "overwritten" in the tooltip where it shows who made it. Just wondering if there's still some identifier in there.
