[SUGGESTION] Add Account-Wide Skill Point/Skyshard Rewards to the Champion Point System

With the current Champion Point system, I still feel like the rewards for progression aren't that noticeable, and with the addition of the new subclassing system that requires double skill points to unlock, I feel like it would be a great improvement to add account-wide skill point rewards for the Champion Point system.

Perhaps you could grant 1 skyshard every 30 CP levels, for a total of 40 account-wide skill points at CP 3600. I feel like that would be a nice change, what do you guys think?

that seems like a nice addition.

if you get all the skill points from quests and skyshards you shouldn't actually need more though.
Plus with Solstice we get like dozen extra skill points.

CP and skills are separate systems.
And with subclassing being added as mandatory system for everyone who wants to max out DPS there should be at least this one downside of having to invest twice as many skill points.
This downside would be worth nothing if we’d get skill points every x CP.

You can still earn enough points by just playing the game. Just collect skyshards and quest rewards.

Yes I hate skyshard farming let me get at least a few through cp.

Makes more sense anyway. Level 1-50 is practically the tutorial. You aren't really playing until you hit cp160, how you get skil points should reflect that.

The downside is already worth nothing. All it does is make it more irritating to complete a build. As if this game doesn't have enough qol issues.

I like it, but I feel like it should be 50, similar to how you get 50 skill points via AVA levels. I know these are different because they'd be account wide, but more skill points, more fun. (Plus it would be a nice little bonus on fresh alts for established accounts)

    40 skill points account-wide???
With a max possible 20 characters, that is an average of 2 points per character. I wonder if the OP did not take Sheogorath up on his offer of skill points. Cause 40 would be the exact number of skill points earned if the max possible characters accepted his offer.

Tracking at the character level which skill points used were account wide and which are character bound seems like an unnecessary use of resources. Cause without tracking which point is which, how will the system know which gets unused points during a reskill? If it is designed to go into the account-wide first before the character pool, then it will make it too easy to reskill out unused skills and carry those points over to the next character. If the character pool is filled first before the account-wide pool, then players would be forced to completely empty all skills just to have points available on the next character.

I don't think account wide skill points are a solution. That said, I am fine if there are additional sources of skill points at the character level.

There are already more than enough skillpoints to be obtained.

This would only serve to nullify the purpose of doubling the skillpoint requirements for subclassed skills.

I imagine the OP was meaning that every character on the account would get 40 skill points, otherwise it would be pointless.

    It's a terrible idea.

It would definitely help when creating new characters, since even after 50 levels our character feels a lack on necessary skill points.

40 skill points would hardly change that...

While I don't disagree there's probably enough in-game if you've beaten literally everything, it's unreasonable to assume everyone has 24/7 365 days a year to grind all the skill point quests in the game for a single character... So for the 98% of the playerbase, it would be nice to have a complimentary source of skill points post-level 50 to aid in progression.

The idea of finally rewarding players for leveling up is good but giving skyshards or making them account wide is impossible since ZOS is selling them in the store.

People that did purchase skyshards on their alt could teoretically ask for a refound.

Reaching 3600cp is an akivement that take 10 years if you don't grind like a madman in Blackrose so the reward should be something more.

I agree , why make subclassed skills cost double points in the first place and then offer an easy source of new points? The double points make the choice to subclass a bit more of a challenge and a sacrifice. Not much, but a bit. 🙂
