Why isn't the Armory Assistant available inside trials?

I've sometimes found myself needing to swap builds or roles in the middle of a trial (for various reasons), and you'd think the Armory Assistant was created for that exact purpose, but no; it "can't be used during a leaderboard event" (whatever that means)..! Please ZOS, tell me why you won't enable that, considering how useful it would be??? Can you please make it available? @ZOS_GinaBruno

(And yes, I know that the Wizards Wardrobe add-on exists, but I shouldn't have to rely on that when there's a perfectly similar function already existing in the game)

Armory assistant can't be used in content, that is connected to leaderboards.
This includes all arenas, trials and infinite archive.

This should prevent pay2win, as the assistant costs 5k crowns and you can reach a better score with swapping things with him.

Note that dressing room and similar tools are common on PC.
Granted they can only change gear and bar skills but can be used everywhere if out of combat.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

As RealLove said, it makes it pay to win for harder achievements/scorepushing. E.g. in Sunspire, in Trifecta groups you'll often see a player who will heal on Lokke, DD on Yolna, and Tank on Nahvi. ATM they just have to switch out skills and armour. If Armoury was allowed, then people who had paid for it would be at a significant advantage, since they could also switch mundus stone, attributes, and potentially adding/dropping vampire.

You can still use it before the timer starts insider the starting area, but as soon as someone goes in and timer starts it is locked for leaderboards.

This restriction makes no sense because Wizard's wardrobe addon will change CP and everything that the Armourer changes (except Mundus and curse), and it is FREE. AND it even automatically changes setups, and you can have multiple per trail.

So why shouldn't the Armourer be allowed to be used in scored content?????

But the Armory Assistant can change a few things that addons can't: Mundus, Attributes, Skill Morphs, Curse status.

Essentially the addons are something you could already do in the trial just by opening your menus and setting them. It saves time to use them, but it is possible to swap around manually. The above though can't be changed without porting out of the instance.

You said it, because Wizard's Wardrobe is "FREE". If you make AA available inside scored events then the person who is willing to buy (NOT FREE) armory slots will have an advantage over someone who does not.

Respec scrolls are allowed in content with leaderboards...

Those take much longer to deal with than the armory assistant, plus they’re one time use only, prohibitively expensive, and don’t cover all of what the armory does. The scroll use itself is instant, but for skill respec scrolls you have to invest all of your skill points and CP all over again. Then you have to repeat with attribute scrolls and those points, as necessary. Curse removers and appliers can be bought, although you again have to spend time interacting with the crown store interface and then investing your points. Mundus stone changes can’t be bought at all.

When some tris clear by seconds, and especially when people are scorepushing, you want to be able to hit one or two buttons to be able to swap between fights. Respeccing via scrolls/the crown store takes too long. It’s also prohibitively expensive to use these consumables regularly. An armory assistant and armory slots are one-time purchases that can do what these consumables do and more in a few seconds at most for no more cost than the initial investment.

My point is that the "pay-to-win" bridge has already been crossed. They should allow the armory assistant in all content.

I don’t agree that having 3/4ths of the functionality of the armory available as one-time-use per-character consumables for unviable pricing in terms of crowns and time management is crossing the same bridge as allowing the armory in all content. It crosses some bridges, but not the same one, imo. The armory does more than all of those consumables for far less money in far less time, and it only requires one group member to own the assistant. It is eminently viable in content in a way that consumables are not and could not be.

probably for the same reason we can't port into a public dungeon from a wayshrine after we've been to it once.

I might be the only player who is glad we can’t.

These tools just make more work for the player when they give us more options like this. I hate the fact that I now have to parse with different gear and skills than when I run the trial. It’s all some sort of ridiculous simulation to approximate some ideal that is more than I care to bother with. Who knows even how accurate it is? I’d absolutely hate to completely switch buildouts just for mobs versus bosses and such. I’m fine with switching out one skill for a specific case in a specific trial. Too much mix/maxing for my taste.

Essentially the AA isn't allowed in some type of content to prevent pre-buffing in goups.

You are probably correct. Now I only used the armorer as backup then trying new builds.
Find addons for swapping gear and skills much more practical
