Daily Writ Imbalance: Cloth vs. Leather

Woulda put this in the Crafting forum but it doesn't have a New Discussion button for me.

Surely I'm not the first to bring this up but there is a massive imbalance between the number of daily writ quests given out that require leather vs. cloth. Need to increase the frequency of leather writ quests, please.

I've compared notes with a few other guildies who also do a minimum of 9 characters' worth of writ quests every day.
Even though the majority of us are crafting sets these days with medium gear, every person still has a backstock of 20-30 times as much leather as they have cloth.

For example, I currently do at least 10 surveys every day and have to do ALL the cloth ones to stay ahead of the curve here on Ancestor Silk. As I type this, I have:
978 Silk, 565 raw silk
15.8k Rubedo, 6.3k Rubedo scraps

I didn't write down guildie numbers but I did mentally register that EVERY one of them has more leather than cloth. Though the one who is online with me right now has:
5.3k silk (refined)
39k rubedo (refined)

I do daily writs on 11 characters and, like I said above, I prioritize cloth surveys every day.

Solution 1:
Can we either consolidate leather & cloth into one skill & one resource or can we separate out leather vs. cloth yet? I realize this would be a major overhaul of crafting system. But it's the only table that serves two effective skills. Standardization across crafting skills & materials serves the future of the game.

Solution 2:
If you cannot do that, I propose increasing the chances of a leather writ quest. The imbalance is clear: too many cloth writs, not enough leather.

I did also noticed imbalance in my reserve of cloth vs leather, but I wonder if it's caused by an imbalance in the writs ( more clothy ones than leathery ones ), or caused by a bigger supply of leather in general than cloth.

Honestly, the imbalance between stocks of materials don't prove anything, and I'm curious of datas about the writs themselves. Because if the source of the imbalance is simply that you get more leather doing stuff in game than cloth, well, I don't see a real problem.

As for me, I 'regularly' run out of cloth, sure, but I also do run out of ore, wood, platinum, 'regularly' ( at some point at least, mostly because I pool surveys and used them en masse ). And I don't feel like I'm running out of cloth more often than these other mats. So, without datas about the writs themselves and the ratio of clothy ones vs leathery ones, it seems to me that there is no problem. Almost every ressources run out 'naturaly' when you do a bunch of writs, and leather seems like an exception rather than a rule.

And frankly, if this situation get somehow 'fixed', I guss there will be people opening threads about wood and ore running out while cloth and leather don't, and how it is imbalanced and need to be fixed. Which would be quite funny honestly.

There is no real imbalance. You get 2 cloth writs to 1 leather writ just as you get 2 cloth nodes to 1 leather node doing surveys. I currently have twice the cloth than I do leather on both NA and EU servers. It really depends on the content you're doing in the game.

I'd say you're probably running dungeons everyday where you'll have a better chance at killing things that drop leather as I don't run dungeons. Also I tend to pick more cloth plants than spend time killing mobs in overland

It was probably intended that the four cloth and two leather nodes at each survey would provide the 2:1 ratio, but the traps give more units than the plants, so the actual ratio is almost even.

If your gathering is from foraging as you go, the leather nodes tend to volunteer more often than the cloth ones do. They'll come to you, rather than vice versa.

It's actually leather that's the odd one out when compared to Woodworking, Blacksmithing, and Light Clothing writs. The other 3 are comparable to one another, while the extra materials you get in the medium crates from surveys makes medium clothing writs completely self sustainable.
