This is Richard, he ques for a random normal. He sees he's in Wayrest 1 with 3 under 50 characters who all grab the quest. He then procedes to run past all the mobs to each boss and kill them pulling the under 50s with him. This prevents anyone from being able to do the quest because obviously he is more important. Don't be a Richard.

This could be rectified to a degree if mobs hit a heck of a lot harder and AOE tanking was implemented. But ZOS does not see an issue here and have removed any ability to AOE tank thorugh a number of patches.

Personally if I was leveling an alt and had a Richard in the group I'd be elated. Anything to make the boring base game dungeons I've done thousands of times quicker is a good thing. Getting pulled on more bosses is the best thing ZOS has done for the dungeon experience in a very long time.

If you're not a Richard please consider becoming one and saving more people time.

    You missed the last line.

The skill point and quest XP is 100% worth the time it takes to talk to the NPC when required. Due to Richard, the players are not able to talk to the NCP to further the quest.

ESO really needs WOW's follower dungeons so anyone can solo a normal dungeon with an NPC crew smelling all the skeevers, and taking just as long as they want.

Hell, we could even take 3 companions buffed enough while in the dungeon to make it viable for even level 10 noobs.

For story there's a separate group finder, solo, guilds and friends. Basically you only want to use dungeon finder if you need to farm something really quick and get daily rewards.

I also have a problem with Talahassee who uses the dungeon finder and leaves the second after the loading screen because it isn’t Fungal Grotto 1 leaving 3 other people stranded in eternal matchmaking.

Either ZOS should make priority backfill or let these egoistic people not queue with their whole account until we finish the dungeon like some other team games do.

It would be an awesome addition, just don't follow the GW2 format where not only NPCs — or in this case, Companions — don't do squat, but dungeons remain relatively just as hard as if it was a (humans') group run.

This is just how the game was designed though. Surely after 10 years they could have implemented a fix to glaring issue everyone's had the whole time ? Nah it's apart of the game. People will always be Richard

The 3 under 50 characters could have easily vote to kick Richard. Problem solved.

Not when the other two are actual bots and refuse to act upon kick requests.

I'm sure *this* time zos will drop everything and implement all the fixes that everyone's suggested in the 15,000 other posts with the same complaint.

But until they do, it's probably best to find some friends / guildies / non-random people who are willing to do a slower run and wait for the quest because Richard's probably not reading this post, and if he is he probably doesn't care.

I think this is a better solution for sure.

Most of the time, unless you're trying to read the quest text and listen and stuff, the quest gets forwarded to the next part of the dungeon as you progress even if you don't finish the voiceline.

ZOS really needs to make this feature though. Simply implementing follower dungeons would completely alleviate this problem so people can stop making these posts. If you join a random group finder, no one is more important than the other. You can be nice, sure, but no one is obligated to do anything. Try to solo the dungeon on normal, which is VERY doable, with a companion until ZOS implements this feature or play with a friend or 2.

All of these are options that a genuinely new player is either unlikely to have access to or unlikely to know about. Having to take special steps to access basic content that has been in the game since launch is not intuitive for newbies.

This is more of a game design problem than a player behavior one. It just shouldn't be possible to force other players to skip their quests. It's bad enough in places like Volenfell where you pick up the quest, but then have to wait 30 seconds after random trash packs for the dialogue marker to appear, otherwise you skip your own quest.
