Will Content Pass content be available to ESO Plus subscribers after a year, as Chapters are now?

Title. I couldn't find a direct answer in the FAQ or elsewhere. I assume yes, but players should know for sure. @ZOS_Kevin

UPDATE 04.24.25:
Kevin has added the answer to the FAQ today. Thanks Kevin!

Q. Will the zone from the 2025 ESO Content Pass roll into what ESO Plus members have access to in 2026?
A. The Solstice zone is premium game content, much like with our previous Chapter zones. It will be added to the content that ESO Plus members gain access to with an active subscription sometime in 2026. A reminder: you will only earn the extra rewards that come with the 2025 Content Pass if you get the Content Pass before the Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 launches in June.

Also, the parts of the Writhing Wall event that take place in the Solstice zone are only available via this year’s 2025 Content Pass. Players without access to the Seasons of the Worm Cult content will be able to participate in event activities that are not in the Solstice zone—more on this in the future!

(FWIW: Not keen on the price increase with no added value. The dungeons (which I get with Plus, so it feels more like being charged twice) and extra cosmetics I'll never use are not worth +$10. Agree with many comments here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/675990/eso-just-lost-a-significant-amount-of-value-again/)

No info yet, but I take the gamble.

I usually avoid doing story in the latest Expansion anyway, because ZOS can't be bothered to hide the dozens of other players (and their pets and companions) that stand around in *my* story cutscene.

When it won't be available via ESO+ next year, then I'll reconsider the value of ESO+. (Though, I do have unsubscribed with 10 months remaining, just to make sure I don't forget.) Right now, it's just the yearly extra expense I see little value in.

Until an official announcement from ZOS about it, no-one really knows. When's their next major PR event likely to be?

Why should they tell people YES, and then people would just wait... or not say anything, and leave them to either buy or wait. It makes no sense to say, "Yes, it'll be free next year" and cost them potential sales.

We always knew chapters would be part of ESO+ a year later, but a lot of us still bought the chapters. So I'm not sure it's that.

it's already cost them sales. i cancelled my sub because at this point it's sure looking like this isn't going to continue. if they were going to include it, they would have confirmed this by now. going back to a different game for a bit. if next year they continue to put the "old" content on eso+, then maybe i'll sub for a month and do the new-to-me things.

also the thing about not doing content when it's new because of all the ppl... oh em gee... how many times have i missed important dialogue because other ppl are just running through delves and quest areas and triggering events. and i have to sit and wait for them to finish and wait for the thing to respawn again. never had this problem in other games. i'm not saying it doesn't happen anywhere else, but this is the only place -i- have experienced it

I was always one who supported the fact that ZOS need money to keep the game alive, justifying ESO+ and the crown store as cash sources. As someone who can afford it, I was happily contributing by paying ESO+ and once in a while purchasing something in crown store.

Now, if it should be confirmed that ESO+ subscribers need to pay the yearly pass in addition to the subscription... hmmm... that would - for me - slowly reach the acceptable limits.

However, I have to say that I'm rather lucky, because with my tourist way to play, I don't touch dungeon DLCs and after visiting expansion packs zones, I rarely return there (exceptions: Craglorn and Summerset). So, if the yearly pass should come in addition for ESO+ subscriber, I would just stay with my current world content, that is big enough to cover for my way to play. But I will not pay more than what I already pay.

I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA

In Kevin's Q&A post he included the question about what content will be available to ESO+.

His answer were the dungeon packs. He did not say the zones or other aspects of DLCs that are not part of the dungeons.

That makes things very clear as for the first year. The only remaining question I see is if the rest of the content will be added to ESO+ after a year. Basically how the chapters have been working.

    Here is that thread.

Unfortunately, as was stated on the thread, we may not know a concrete answer to this for at least a few months since the last QA question states that they are focused on 2025 so any plans on what will happen in 2026 is up to debate. The question states "Will there be a new content pass in 2026?" Based on the wording though several things come to mind. 1. They do smaller changes that they deem may not need a content pass and thus do other things, quality of life, smaller quests, etc. 2. They do a content pass but the price is based around the content provided so $20 to $25 for dungeons and maybe quests in the older zones. My pricing is in the assumption that there are 2 dungeon packs and no new zones. 3. The content pass is like this year and is $50 for 2 dungeon packs and a zone. 4. (worst case) The content pass is $50 regardless of the content provided.

I think a lot of us will be satisfied if we knew what to expect going forward on the model rather then making guess work as to how it will play out.

Edit: Thought I should clarify the original question. Since we don't know how the content pass will play out in the future we don't have an idea yet on whether or not the content will be made available next year with ESO+.

If they add it to ESO+ (which I don't have), is it fair to assume that the content will also be purchase able separately as a standalone DLC?

So unlike many other sections of the game where you get phased into a different part of the game when you haven't done the quest. Such as towns that change from fighting to peaceful. The content pass with the wall event won't be like that?

If you don't take up the season 1 pass before or during the wall event. You completely miss out on the wall content that you paid for? Since it's not going to be a storey line or an annual rotation event and just a one off between the seasons.

    Is that right?

Those extra rewards mentioned are just the usual preorder stuff right? So no big deal there.
This recent update has made me sad. Sad for the game. Sad for the community. Sad to pay whatever it is now. I want the previous eso back.

This is good to hear and at least addresses the main question on the thread. Hoping to hear more about the future model so I don't have to keep thinking about how its going to work or if its going to change all that much.

Since they said it is like the chapter zones (and is also listed in the game announcement screen as a chapter) it will.

They will do two things I assume as usual when the next 2026 chapter goes live:
    - add the zone for purchase in the crown store
    - add the zone (and all the other expansion chapter zones) to the 2026 premium content pass

The whole model is ill-conceived, they seem to jump on the season-pass bandwagon without taking the time to figure out how it's suposed to works.

The only good deal is for the fraction of non-subscribers who buy both chapter and dungeon dlc, everyone else just got a 25% price increase for a "chapter", that is likely much smaller than ever before. The big gameplay feature is free for all, so no reason to buy the season pass for that either.

So what's the motivation for us to buy the season pass? Some exclusive cosmetics?

Just make the season pass $60 and add a year of ESO+ benefits (sans crowns) that might be more profitable in the long run.
