Was recently looking thru my computer to see what was taking up disk space, found out the Elder Scrolls Online PTS folder was 225GB's. My Elder Scrolls Online folder is a little over 100GB, so if you find yourself trying to find out whats taking up disk space..might wanna look at that folder..suffice to say I don't plan on using PTS anytime soon.

    It's 127 GB for me.
Did you install the PTS twice or something? Definetly seems off.

Only time I "re-installed" it was when I got my new computer. And that was a fresh install.

The computer I was playing ESO and other games on just died the other night.

Fortunately, I can still play it on my MacBook Air. But I had a computer I'd bought for my father to replace his old one before he passed away, which we never got around to setting up, so I opened it up and got it set up for myself.

When I went to install ESO on it, it took up over half of the hard drive, leaving maybe a fifth of the hard drive free with the other stuff on it. I wouldn't be able to install anything else on it.

Then I went to launch ESO for the first time, and it wasn't actually installed yet, just downloaded-- and installing it was going to eat up over half of what little free space was left.

I ended up just uninstalling ESO from that computer. If the PTS was going to more than double the amount of space that ESO needs, there's no way I'd have gotten it installed.

So for now I'm making do on my MacBook Air, which is absolutely horrible for two reasons-- the Magic Mouse is not at all conducive to an enjoyable gaming experience, and having to hit the Command key to bash/interrupt and break free is awful.

But DANG, this game sure does use a lot of hard drive space. :(

It does use alot of disk space but thats just how modern MMO's are.

This is one of the best times of the year to use PTS with the new zone, but it does take up a lot of space.

If you want to claim a bit of storage space back, there are a couple of files with audio in different languages you can safely delete. I don't recall the exact filenames, but they're pretty obvious. They're a couple of gb each, and if you delete them the launcher won't try to reinstall them. You'll still end up with a 100gb+ install, but at least it's something.

My c:\Users\[username]\.minion folder ending up with an 150 GB log file for some insane reason :open_mouth:
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Normally this happens when the patch file corrupts - it downloads the patch to a secondary file before it applies it so you temporarily get 2 copies of the game in the folder, it's meant to then tidy up after itself but if this breaks then you have double the file size - thats why the game requires such a huge amount of free space to install
