Overall, I would say it's a trade-off (I'm actually more looking forward to pet builds now).
With the changes to Daedric Prey only buffing the class pet skills, doesn't that mean that not only are the non sorc pets excluded, (shade, bear, archer, BB, etc) but the pets from sets also lose the damage boost? That sort of kills the damage of a lot of sets that depended on the 45% increase to deal meaningful damage. The fabled Zoo spec is not only dead on arrival but even "classic" zoo builds wont really work the same anymore if at all.
