Skordo, a friend of ours?

Why does Skordo suddenly sound like he stepped off the set of a cheesy miafioso movie in the new prologue quest? It's jarring. It sounds like the same actor, but a different accent. Weird.

sometimes people's voices change over time, it's been six years since he was last in ESO (Southern Elsweyr 2019).
though it could also be that voice director just wanted the voice to be done differently this time.

That's very generous of you. However, my East Texas accent is not likely to change to a Mid-Western accent because I aged six years. Even if I move to the mid-west. Yes, voices change over the years, but not like that. It seems more likely that it was a mistake. Voice actors commonly change their accents for different roles, so they probably didn't remember the exact accent they used. The voice director failed to ensure that the dialect used matched the previously recorded dialogue. That's a quality control issue. But, hey, it happens to even the best voice actors. I listen to a lot of audio books on my commute and even my favorites sometimes makes mistakes. But that doesn't make it any less jarring, just forgivable. (Also, it hasn't been six years. Skordo was added as a houseguest in 2023 and he sounded normal.)

This! Queen Ayren's voice was different in High Isle because Kate is many years older now and our voices tend to shift over time.
