isn't this season pass offering less content, but for a higher price?

it's 50 euros, and the Gold Road chapter was 40 euros. so was every other chapter before it, back to Elsweyr (i joined at Summerset, which was on sale). anyway, is this just inflation? and i swear it's not more content. it might be the same amount, but it's definitely a higher price...

I think the idea is it's the chapter and the dungeon DLCs together (and they're listing the community event as part of the package, but those have always been free for people who had the chapter).

It looks like it's about the same price for people who don't subscribe and do buy all the chapters/DLC each year, but more expensive for everyone else - subscribers and people who skip some DLC.

i did just hear them say in the post direct that the dlc dungeons are included in the price. so, it could actually be a bit more content. dlc dungeons that released before previous chapters weren't included, and in fact i only have access to them through eso+ ... if i stopped the sub, i'd have to buy them. ok, well glad i mentioned this

If you're an ESO+ subscriber you are getting less content for more money, yes. If you are not a subscriber, this could work out to be slightly cheaper depending on when/how you bought the dungeon DLC.
Content Pass is not the answer. It is a question, the answer is No.

So...if I'm reading this right (and guessing here)...I'm betting that Seasons will never be "on sale" like the Chapters? Players like me who don't sub and wait until a sale (got Gold Road for $11) are going to be either going to pay full price for the Season, or just not get it at all? Or will the Season go on sale at some point? I'm very confused.

Yes, it's definitely better value for those who either don't subscribe or don't buy the pass.

If you don't get the pass your ESO+ includes the dungeons so has more value. If you buy and don't sub you save a whole year of payments with very little value because you've already had to buy all the content

At the moment, options as a Plus subscriber who usually just buys chapters seem to be:

1 - Pay less: Ditch Plus, get all new content. (Lose quality of life and access to a lot of old content.)
2 - Pay less: Keep Plus but don't get new content. (Lose new content.)
3 - Pay more: Plus + new Pass. (Lose a big chunk off the value of Plus because 3/4 of the pieces of content from the pass would usually have been covered by Plus anyway.)

I don't see any good option here. Can we not get a package that covers content and quality of life from current Plus?

This feels like it's rewarding players who have avoided Plus and always bought content directly, and punishing those of us who have instead relied on Plus over the years.

They should have offered the content pass at a lower price for subscribers. They could have required that you've been a subscriber for at least 3 months or something like that, to avoid the "subscribe for one month to get the lower price and then cancel" folks. Or just lower the price by the equivalent of one month of subbing. Anything. But not this.

At this point ESO+ feels like a way to keep people who rely on the craft bag or want to be able to rearrange their houses hostages.

I agree it's not a good deal for subscribers, especially if you haven't been buying the DLC because you intended to keep your sbuscription active.

But I'm in kind of the opposite situation and it also doesn't seem like a good deal for me. I rarely subscribe, do buy the chapters and used to buy zone DLC but not dungeons (because I don't play dungeons enough to pay for more of them) and now my options are to pay more to get a bundle including DLC I don't want, or skip an entire year's worth of releases.

At the moment the best option for me is to hope I can find it at a reasonable price (so about 50% off) at some point in the future.

    No, I don't think so.

They are charging the same for less, and tossing in the dungeons and the server-wide event in to make the pot look like there is more soup in it.

No, you don't think so about what? What I said was factual, if you "don't think so" then please provide a counter to what I said. As it is now, you said "No, I don't think so" and then agreed with me.

Maybe it's different for you, but the price has definitely gone up compared to what I paid for the Gold Road chapter.
