Standing on the spawn point just to annoy enemy team

People that when they realize they are going to lose a deathmatch because their teammates quickly die and decide to camp on the spawnpoint, waiting for the full 5 minutes timer to end, just to annoy the enemy team (and teammates).
This evening I had a guy in a match that decided that all the other 7 people in the match had to wait the full 10 minutes (full 2 matches duration) just because he decided so, while the match was clearly over after 30 seconds more or less, because his teammates were squishy as hell and got melted 3 times in a row in very little time.

Is this behaviour accepted? Can we report these people that intentionally wait on the spawnpoint just to annoy other players (annoying also their teammates in the process) for trolling and hopefully ban them from queueing into battlegrounds again for a few days?

    Of course no such ban would be justified. I thought players got thrown down after a certain time? What about players that just stealth around? If the other 7 players on the team are constantly running back in and dying, then the SCORE would end a deathmatch fairly quickly as the winning team's score would steadily escalate. I don't see how ONE player at spawn would slow the win down much at all. It would require most, if not all of the team, to make you wait 10 minutes .........

    sometimes they are thrown into the match anyway, sometimes not, I wasn't able to understand the ratio. Anyway it'ìs not the first time this happens to me, and I think it's higly disrispectful towards the others 7 people that just wanted to jump in and have a quick PVP (that is what Battleground are for), and have to wait instead 10 minutes because one player decided that it's a good idea to just stand on the spawnpoint and wait for the timer to end, just to annoy everyone else.
    Regarding your anwser: that's not how deathmatch battlegrounds works. In order to reach 500, you have to kill every member of the opponent team for 3 times. After the 3rd time, a player can't respawn and can only spectate the teammates. So if one player decide to stand on the spawnpoint and wait, all the others can't do anything, they have to wait, because they have no way of hitting the score, so the match will end only when the timer reaches zero.

    Hmmm ... thanks for the update. I've never had a match like that. ZOS needs to just get rid of that 3 member deaths. I'm a tank and go many BG's including DM's with 0 deaths. I generally only die from the Chaos ball. I suppose my team does win a lot of DM's, now that I think about it. I've never seen players now able to respawn ... for some reason have not been aware of it. I don't BG a lot ... usually 10-15 games a week.

    And this is in the 8v8 .... that 3 deaths per team member? It seems I've noticed other tank/heals that don't die there much.

    And TY again for the update. That rules needs to be eliminated. I can see that be annoying.

    We need the option to vote kick players. This level of trolling/Toxic Andy behaviour is only growing. Had a match last night where two of us were half decent and able to put up a fight but we're were never going to win it 2 v 4. The third player was in RND gear and wiped pretty quickly, but at least they gave it a shot and actually played so kudios to them. The 4th was just a complete troll. Never left spawn and refused to jump down and die when it was over - we need the option of being able to remove players like the 4th.

    There's presently a 2-minute countdown to dump stalling players from spawn to the battlefield. But that is WAY too long.

    I suggest a 20 second score debuff that can progress to deserter after a certain point, complete with AFK kick. Reduce the count down by 5 for each eliminated team mate (since waiting for team mates to respawn is a valid, necessary tactic).

    Maybe a timer on the spawn point?

    30... nay, 60 second timer. If you need to switch some skills or try a different gear, 60 seconds should be plenty. 30 might be a bit too short time if you need to switch skills and a gear set.

    And after 60 seconds the spawn area starts to do increasing oblivion damage every second. 500 -> 1000 -> 2000 -> 4000 -> 8000 -> 16000...

    Or, it does small damage starting at 30 seconds and really ramps up at 60 seconds.

    Oh my friend, oh my friend. At least someone besides me noticed it. It's just incredibly annoying.
    A free tip for spawners - roll dodge and squats will give chanse get around your opponent or 1-3 seconds of time. It's better than standing on a spawn.

    Two days ago I was in a 4v4 dm. I had 4 kills, my team all died three times and then I was 4v1d to death.

    I couldn't respawn, or type to reload ui or let anyone know what was going on... or, not going on. I couldn't leave the bg. I was stuck laying there on the floor. My options were to wait or close the app and relog. I waited and eventually got booted. Maybe I should have relogged... idk but things like this happen and not everyone is being malicious. Normally I would walk into the lava, or slaughterfish, to end it quickly in these cases. I just couldn't.

    That being said, I'll go back to my old trope about fixing the root cause. In this case, people wouldnt leave bgs, or refuse to spawn, if they enjoying themselves.

    You really have to ask yourself why zos felt the need to implement a 30 or 15 minute penalty. It's almost like saying, "the whipping will continue until morale improves". It's a meme. It's absurd. It's where we are.

    If your team's allowed to camp underneath their spawn point, they should be allowed to camp on their spawn point.

    It's mutually annoying so alllow them their petty revenge. It's just 10 minutes.

    Spend that time taking a break or just meditate on what you did and why.

    Spawn camping, particularly in death match, isn't a sportsmanship problem. It's a format problem.

    Sometimes, you lose so hard you can't even make it out the gate. You might feel humiliated and bullied, but that doesn't mean the other team is humiliating or bullying you. There's just zero incentive to do anything else. Everyone wants to move on, but the only option the losing side has is to walk out into slaughter.

    In this case, whoever is stalling is the bad sport. That's all there is to it. Petty revenge for an unbalanced match? Take it up with ZOS, not the people trapped in the battleground with you.

    Above I suggested a punishment for stalling. There should also be an option to surrender. Majority vote, sans eliminated players.

    That way you REALLY have to make a choice to be a bad sport, along with all the consequences thereof.
