[Cloudrest Normal] No portal challenge for what?

Sometimes, rare people keep clinging this challenge. But I didn't understand this behavior purpose.
Is there any of a extra reward or something achievement housing item of this?
Because without reward, it's just time wasting. Just go basic ball and spear work, it's not much time difference.
(just tiny....)

Honestly say, I hate doing those type of challenge without reward.
My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.
I'm Tank and Healer main player.

    It's faster and doesn't require people to do the portal mechanics. That said, its way riskier and requires damage. There is no reward, it's just people wanting to do the trial that way either because they think it'd be better for the run or because they think that's just how Cloudrest is done now (vCR+0 no portal has become increasingly common).

    Regardless common or not, forcing these method against PUG team is quite bad Leader's usual.
    Ignore situation control, go mono tactics, and shut down own brain. and keep saying like this...

    "please no portal" "please no portal" "please no portal" "please no portal" <-- Maybe, brain is sleeping always. :#

    Clinging too much mono idea is simply bad.

    It's OK for the first attempting. But once PUG failed it, must switch direction.
    Just do it basic style, do portal business, and things done peacefully.
    The smart Leader will order against one's team just like that after the twice failure.
    Honestly say, there're zero reason to do so in such a short length trial.

    After I heard it third times "no portal", I left group for doing other trial mission.
    Because, I thought combat never end.

    Doing things differently is fun.
    Testing yourself (or what your group can do) is fun.
    It might not be a default mode for a pug, but bringing some elements of this kind of strats there shows players that there are options besides the basics.
    And the fact that it will get few fails doesn't mean that you should stop trying.

    It does take good dps to pull this off. I'd say something like at least 5 dps with 90-100k potential. It's fun to try and good luck finding a pug dps who can do portal, especially when single tanking it.

    Form your own group and you decide how it's run... join someone else's and you don't. Pretty simple really.

    People just like to brute force and ignore mechs when they can. Heck they do that for Gryphon Heart, if the group is really strong.

    With higher dps being more common, vMoL HM 3 pad burns are normal.

    On normal portal skips are probably really easy if there are enough experienced DPS doing endeavors or pursuits.
